Giuliani Worried About Bernard Kerik
NewsMax ^ | 10/22/07 | NewsMax

Rudy Giuliani’s presidential campaign is increasingly concerned that the controversy swirling around former New York Police Department Commissioner Bernard Kerik could negatively impact his White House aspirations.

Kerik pleaded guilty in 2006 to state conflict-of-interest charges for accepting $165,000 in gifts from an allegedly mob-linked construction firm.

He currently faces a possible indictment from the U.S. attorney’s office for tax crimes and other offenses stemming from renovations to his Bronx apartment from the firm Interstate Industrial Corp., while he was corrections commissioner under then New York City Mayor Giuliani.

Giuliani’s law partner Marc Mukasey has now been told to monitor the criminal investigation of Kerik, and he has thwarted Kerik’s attorney from interviewing witnesses who might help his defense, the New York Post reports.

Mukasey, who joined the law firm of Bracewell & Giuliani in 2005, is the son of Michael Mukasey, a Giuliani friend nominated by President Bush to become the next U.S. attorney general.

In monitoring the Kerik probe, Mark Mukasey is “obviously trying to distance Giuliani from all [the allegations about Kerik], although obviously it all occurred on Giuliani’s watch,” a source with knowledge of the Kerik probe told the Post.

A source told the paper that Mukasey has “made it impossible” for Kerik’s lawyer Kenneth Breen to interview witnesses who work at Giuliani Partners, the consulting firm founded by Giuliani after he left the mayor’s post.

Kerik has been a thorn in Giuliani’s side for some time. In December 2004, the Rudy crony was nominated by President Bush to succeed Tom Ridge as U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security. But after a week of press scrutiny, Kerik withdrew acceptance of the nomination, stating that he had unknowingly hired an undocumented worker as a nanny and housekeeper.

Disclosures about his connection to Interstate arose later. Kerik has also taken heat over a sexual harassment lawsuit and a reported affair with publisher Judith Regan.

I was right when I changed from supporting him to supporting Fred. What else is hidden about him that he does not want anyone to know about?

That’s why the left wants Rudy to be nominated, he’s the only one who can offset Hillary’s baggage with baggage of his own.

Maybe Rooty Toot should try to trademark the 9/11 and September 11th.

suspicious of Romneys conservative credentials and the last thing he wants to do is to take a stand on this. Especially when he still gets something like US$8 million a year from Bain.

Bain as Beards for Chinese Military.

Huawei, founded by a Chinese military officer in 1988, got its start building military communications networks. "Huawei is up to its eyeballs with the Chinese amilitary," a Pentagon official told Bill Gertz of The Washington Times. A second Pentagon official said the deal is taking place at a time when the Pentagon has mounted an aggressive effort to stop computer intrusions from Chinese hackers and spies: "And now as Bain ( of Belmont, Ma.) are proposing to sell the PLA [the People's Liberation Army, as the Chinese military is called] (3Com of Belmont, Ma.)a key to our front door. This is a very dangerous trend."

Rudy’s father did time in the federal pen for being a Mafia button man.

Kerik has Mafia ties.

Kerik has Giuliani ties.

Maybe that’s why the New York conservative media types like Hannity are all so “committed” to Giuliani.

Accidents happen.

"Rooty Toot really is no different from the Clintons."

Some claim otherwise. Inasmuch as I've noted yet, the most profound difference is Clintons come in pairs whilst Guiliani can inflict his damage all by his lonesome.

DO THIS NOW FREEPERS

Rooty's crooked past and his shady involvement with Kerik would make Al Capone blush.

THE LARGER PICTURE The Repub party suffered a major debacle on Nov 2006. RINO Rooty was running around the Nation campaigning with the blessings of then-RNC Chair Mehlman and Karl Rove; conservatives were appalled at RINO Rooty's presence. The party's Nov 2006 blood bath was a wake-up call. Rove and Mehlman were both ushered out the back door for their troubles. But Repub killer Rooty Giuliani is still standing.

A major Repub debacle looms in 2008 with Rooty as the party's standard-bearer. Pres Bush is reserving an unenviable place in history as the losingest Repub president of all time.

Rooty must bow out now.

THIS MESSAGE MUST GO OUT ACROSS THE LAND

A major Repub debacle looms with Rooty as the party's standard-bearer. Tooty and his Rooters are religiously cleansing the Repub party, gleefully dumping so/cons off the party flotilla. The Rooty Tooters will be more aggressive now that Values Voters told Rooty to get lost.

NOW HEAR THIS The all-important so/con base will not standby and allow the party WE CONSERVATIVES built into a majority be marginalized by liberal RINO ROOTY.

Either the party respects its conservative base and dumps Rooty, or Repub will taste again the bitter defeat of Nov 2006. These are the conditions that MUST be met if Repubs expect to get conservative votes:

(1) Rudy Guiliani withdraws from the 2008 race at once.

(2) Rudy Giuliani resigns from the Republican Party.

2 BUSTED IN 'KERIK' DOOR DEAL
By STEPHANIE GASKELL, NY Post
October 18, 2006

A scandal connected to Bernard Kerik reared its head yesterday with the arrests of two people who bid on some high-tech security doors ordered by the then-police commissioner. Alan Risi, the CEO of Georal International - which built the doors - and Joanne Ruscillo, the director of Integrated Security Corp., were busted on charges that they colluded on their bids to buy the doors at a city auction last March.

After leaving office, Kerik sat on the board at Georal. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to conflict-of-interest charges over $165,000 in gifts. The four doors - $50,000 each - were not usable because they were too heavy for the floors at Police Headquarters.

Earlier this year, the city decided to auction them off. Bidders are required to sign an affidavit saying they don't have a connection to other bidders. Investigators said Ruscillo, 47, and Risi, 57, submitted deposit checks from the same address in Queens.

CIRCA 2004 Giuliani hides from Kerik

From the Giuliani Partners website: Mr. Kerik is a Senior Vice President at Giuliani Partners and is Chief Executive Officer of Giuliani-Kerik LLC, an affiliate of Giuliani Partners. Giuliani gets busted lying to MSNBC: Giuliani said repeatedly that Kerik's role in the firm is very limited, representing "less than 5 percent" of its business.

He also said that Kerik's position was largely limited to their joint venture, Giuliani-Kerik. "He's not part of Giuliani Partners," the former mayor said. But at the firm's Web site, Kerik is described as a "Senior Vice President at Giuliani Partners." Giuliani later explained the discrepancy by saying: "Senior vice president of the group is what Bernie was when we started. I think that remains his title, but that's not the way we primarily relate to him. As you know, he does some work for a few of our clients."

He added: "We should probably straighten it out and point out where his ownership interest is and primary work is done."

Giuliani Partners has at least 12 partners and executives in the company. If each of them is equally responsible for a portion of their firm's business, that would come out to 8.33% each. Kerik is not far off the pace. Assuming Giuliani isn't in "damage control" mode when he says that Kerik represented "only 5 percent" of the firm's business, it's still disingenous to calll that level of involvement "very limited", especially when his title is "senior vice president".

NY POST

GUYANA BANK KO'S KERIK PAY
Post Wire Services -- GEORGETOWN, Guyana - The Inter-American Development Bank said yesterday that funds from a $20 million loan to boost Guyana's infrastructure cannot be used to pay former Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik to oversee reforms to the country's police force. The bank said "none of our current bank operations in Guyana is financing the consulting services of Bernard Kerik either as an individual or as part of a consulting firm." In June, Kerik pleaded guilty to accepting gifts from a company that was trying to do business with the city.

KERIK PALS IN LIE RAP
By DENISE BUFFA, NY POST

The owners of a New Jersey construction company turned themselves in yesterday on charges that they lied to a grand jury investigating disgraced former top cop Bernard Kerik. Brothers Frank and Peter DiTommaso were arraigned in Bronx Supreme Court, where prosecutors charged they lied under oath earlier this year when they said their firm, Interstate Industrial Corp. - long suspected as having mob ties - did not pay for the majority of renovations to Kerik's Riverdale apartment in 1999.

The renovations amounted to $165,000 in work. The DiTommasos pleaded not guilty and were released on their own recognizance.

Kerik pleaded guilty late last month to accepting the free renovations when he was the city's correction commissioner. In pleading guilty to misdemeanors, Kerik said he made the mistake of accepting the extensive renovations - which included a Jacuzzi tub - from Interstate "thinking they were clean."
