WaPo Downplays Biden's Latest Racial Blooper; NYT, LAT Ignore It
New York Times/NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

It's time for a TGIF edition of one of our favorite games: WIARHSI. For you beginners, that's "What If A Republican Had Said It?"

What if a Republican had said, in explaining why schools in Iowa are performing better than those in Washington:

"There's less than one percent of the population of Iowa that is African American. There is probably less than four of five percent that are minorities. What is in Washington? So look, it goes back to what you start off with, what you're dealing with."

It’s Biden, so how do you know a Republican didn’t say it first?

IARHSI, He would have folded up his tent and retired from public life in disgrace, because Republicans are not happy when they are so rock-hard stupid as this.

Every indication I’ve seen/heard is that this guy is the dumbest member of Congress, though I believe Bob Casey Jr. of Pennsylvania may have assumed this title when he beat Santorum last year.

When a Democrat falls in the the media forest, do they make a sound?

The answer, of course, is “no”.

Might as well compare this to Imus......

Rob Bartlett impersonates Bill Clinton singing a song about Obama (from the late great Imus in the morning)

There is no doubt any more in the mind of any rational person that there is a big double standard and that the media and the left have created it.
They let their own get away with racism, but crucify conservatives for nothing.

Well at least he didn’t say blacks are just whites waiting to be perfected. That would have really fot MSM attention.

I think some prominent conservative SHOULD say these words. Verbatim and without attribution, exactly as Biden did. There’s a good chance that most of the media would not be sharp enough to realize it’s Biden’s words, and there’d be a major outbreak of righteous wrath against the conservative.

It could as well be done with John Edwards’ comment about African-American men all going to prison or dying.

Well Rush called Obama the Magic Negro and that he was clean and articulate. Of course the first statement was written by a liberal black “journalist” and the second by Biden. The media certainly tried to Imus him and ended up looking like fools. Of course Rush has a way of doing that to Democrats.

Yeah, Patty Murray. She’s a complete fool. But trying to find THE biggest moron in Congress is like trying to find the biggest piece of hay in a haystack.
