I am not giving out numbers, I am jotting down the numbers on your arms with a marker. That was the answer given out by a Mercal [state owned, subsidized grocery stores] employee who was trying to organize the line in the El Valle plaza operation.
El Universal visited the mobile markets located in Fuerte Tiuna, El Valle, Candelaria and Altagracia, and witnessed that in spite of the poor attendance registered in these operations, consumers where marked with numbers on their arms in order to be able to buy food, and after they were done with their purchases, they were again marked with indelible ink on one finger.
According to information provided by the National Reserve, this procedure prevents people from getting in line again to buy products such as sugar, chicken, and powdered milk, since they can only take two kilos per person.
Some consumers said that if they go shopping to other mercales and theyre already marked they will not be sold anything else. Additionally, they registered their discontent with having to get marked just to buy food.
The operations displayed by Misión Alimentación [Mission: Nourishment] were stocked with products in shortage such as chicken, oil, sugar and powdered milk, as well as with other basic staple products.
Oooh, boy. I can see where and why we’re headed that way.
Will these people be marked with Hillary’s other name, “666”?
I would guess all of Venezuela is disarmed, correct?
A revolution in Venezuela is on it’s way............
They need to 'register' a lot louder.
Sick and pathetic. Yeah, some progress, huh you idiotic progressives? It is disgusting how these people have to grovel at the feet of the state.
Revelation Chapter 13
16
He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead,

so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

Thanks for translating.
This is scarier than I thought!
why? Why?? WHY did the people of Venezuela vote this Commie POS into office??????? It seems the world has no shortage of fools and despots.
Somehow, the useful idiots in Hollywood figure they will be exempt.
The house of cards is falling.
Sean Penn is one proud American for backing this guy isn’t he?
I guess it’s official: Chavez is the Anti-Christ.
Ahhh... the good old days of communist food lines. I remember Moscow, 1983, the USSR’s largest shopping complex and people literally running, knocking each other over, pushing and fighting to get a good place in line for...
...wait for it...
Toothpaste.
Crappy, communist toothpaste.
Welcome to hell, Vennies.
An island in the middle of the shark-infested Lake Cari. for example, is a great resort, isn’t it?
Oooh, sounds to me like another “Oil for Food” opportunity here!
Trade ‘em a gallon of Grade A milk for a barrel of oil, whaddaya think?
Salvador Allende announced a plan to ration food in Jan., 1973. Chileans correctly deduced that this gave him the power to decide who would eat and who wouldn’t. Within 8 months he was gone.
Svimwear...very nice.
Sounds like the transition to Chubby’s revolutionary paradise is coming along faster than expected.
Fools.
Now to think that the people in this country might vote in socialism (Democrats,The Beast) scares the crap out of me.
He promised everything would be "free".........
Well,I guess poverty is free.
Everything is “free” except the people.......The Venezuelans will tire of this soon..................as the Romanians did before them...........
What are they waiting for?
Because the "have nots" wanted what the haves possess.
Same as Zimbabwe... Take it away from the producers and give it to the lower classes.
when did Mugabee take over Venezuela?
No, he’s the nice guy version of the AntiChrist. The real AC will be superbad for those left in the Trib.
'Who is John Galt?'
I imagine that Miami is now full to the rafters with the wealthy former-Venuzualans. And whoever could - already got their money out of the country.
This sure didn't take very long, did it? The place to be in Venezuela at the moment is in the black market. That's where the money's at. Classically, it's where certain senior government figures are at as well. It's just one more refrain of an old song, and some folks never seem to get tired of singing it.
Maybe he’s the Anti-Christ’s “John the Baptist,” then.
Hugo is just reducing the ‘food gap’ between those who have been fortunate in life and received excessive food and those who have been unfortunate and don’t have much food.
“Hugo is just reducing the food gap between those who have been fortunate in life and received excessive food and those who have been unfortunate and dont have much food.” (take notes, Hillary)
Nothing moves a country to starvation faster than Socialism. Well, I correct myself: maybe full-blown Communism...
Screw Iran...we need to initiate regime change in Venezuela first.
How long before a similar post shows up on DU, and the poster is 100% serious?
The mark of El Beasto.

Ah, socialist paradise. Kind of makes me feel nostalgic about Good Ole Soviet Union, its shortages and long lines for bread and vodka. People fought, made friends, got married, broke up and died in those lines.
