The action comes on the heels of a recent survey that revealed the sobering fact that parents in these neighborhoods were less likely to send their children trick-or-treating. The groups claim the subsidies are necessary to bring justice to children with little or no opportunity to collect Halloween candy...

The gubmint will have to waive the candy ban for food stamp users. They couldn’t dare think of buying candy out of their own money. Do these people get wake up calls from the gubmint also? Probably at 11am when Springer comes on.

Good Lord! Now they seek candy justice! Not content to wait for the guilt of liberals to kick in, they are doing the Rev. Jackson shakedown. This is nothing more than panhandling.

On a related note, All department stores and malls with “Santas” will have to have in addition to the traditional “white” Santa, a African American Santa, an Asian Santa and a Latino/Hispanic Santa................

Just about every poor kid in the country eats way too much candy, not too little. I hope this is satire.

It’s definitely satire. Especially since inner city families just bring their kids out to the burbs for trick or treat.

It is obviously a joke....but since I left the US, nothing would surprise me :( God rest America.

“Elected officials in favor of the measure plan to propose an ‘accumulated candy tax’, aimed mostly at the wealthiest trick-or-treaters.”

I am sure there will be an Easter Bunny and Santa tax to follow, hahaha

I expect the reason that parents in these neighborhoods don’t send their kids out trick or treating has nothing to do with a lack of candy — I’m betting that they don’t want them getting shot.

I do the same thing!! Every so often I throw in a packet of that real hot mustard, you know, from the Chinese Restaurant. It’s just, you know, to spice up their Halloween a bit.

Seriously folks, if we continue to go down this death spiral, at some point we’re going to have to accept that some people just don’t have the mental faculties others do.

I mean, if we’re going to give in on this one, the group demanding something for nothing again is definately far superior in intellect to us.

Sadly, you can buy candy with food stamps.... I don’t think it is the lack of candy that is keeping them from trick or treating in the neighborhoods.

Apparently good satire.

A little more outrageous and they might be able to write a true report.

Somebody ought to do one on licorice ropes shaped as nooses; that’d become a real hate crime in a heartbeat.

I just usually give out little bags with 3 cigarettes and a couple of those nip bottles of liquor for Halloween.

That way I don't feel I'm contributing to tooth decay.
