ATLANTA, GA - An alliance of several minority groups announced a major campaign to secure Halloween candy subsidies for children in low-income and minority neighborhoods. The action comes on the heels of a recent survey that revealed the sobering fact that parents in these neighborhoods were less likely to send their children trick-or-treating. The groups claim the subsidies are necessary to bring justice to children with little or no opportunity to collect Halloween candy...

Give me a break now us taxpayers have to pay for their kids candy get a job, quite smoking, drinking, taking drugs.get a life. When is this crap going to stop?
The gubmint will have to waive the candy ban for food stamp users. They couldn’t dare think of buying candy out of their own money. Do these people get wake up calls from the gubmint also? Probably at 11am when Springer comes on.
Good Lord! Now they seek candy justice! Not content to wait for the guilt of liberals to kick in, they are doing the Rev. Jackson shakedown. This is nothing more than panhandling.
Satire
Is this satire?
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To think that I believed we already gave away too many freebees, we are now responsible for kids pursuit of candy. WTF!!!! It cost 10 dollars max to give out candy on Holloween. This is sickening to me!!!
And here I thought this was Scrapple Face article.
You forgot about the dentist bill after all the toothaches coming thanks to all the free candy. And all the diabetic treatments from the sugar ODs that will occur.
You can darn well bet these “poor” people have cell phones, cable tv, flat screen LCD’s, and maybe even a pimped out ride. I call BS!
“Satire”
Things are so silly now I never even considered that possibility.
Who a hoot! Very creative.
There can be no candy gap.
On a related note, All department stores and malls with “Santas” will have to have in addition to the traditional “white” Santa, a African American Santa, an Asian Santa and a Latino/Hispanic Santa................
Okay for a second time, news from the site daily redundancy had me going.
Scary, when satire is hard to tell from truth
Just about every poor kid in the country eats way too much candy, not too little. I hope this is satire.
Like childhood obesity is not ALREADY a scourge among the poor?
Candy reparations
If it melt in da hand, pay da man.
It’s definitely satire. Especially since inner city families just bring their kids out to the burbs for trick or treat.
Hey,,I’m to scared to go out and get a job,,would perfer an income of,say,,,75k per year,,don’ want to be to greedy.....tax free,,please,
“Elected officials in favor of the measure plan to propose an ‘accumulated candy tax’, aimed mostly at the wealthiest trick-or-treaters.”
I am sure there will be an Easter Bunny and Santa tax to follow, hahaha
I expect the reason that parents in these neighborhoods don’t send their kids out trick or treating has nothing to do with a lack of candy — I’m betting that they don’t want them getting shot.
I do the same thing!! Every so often I throw in a packet of that real hot mustard, you know, from the Chinese Restaurant. It’s just, you know, to spice up their Halloween a bit.
Heh heh!
Seriously folks, if we continue to go down this death spiral, at some point we’re going to have to accept that some people just don’t have the mental faculties others do.
I mean, if we’re going to give in on this one, the group demanding something for nothing again is definately far superior in intellect to us.
I covet those, so they don't get out the door...they get the stock catsup, mustard and, if I like the costume...relish.
ROTFLMAO.
This is rich.
Sadly, you can buy candy with food stamps.... I don’t think it is the lack of candy that is keeping them from trick or treating in the neighborhoods.
Apparently good satire.
A little more outrageous and they might be able to write a true report.
Somebody ought to do one on licorice ropes shaped as nooses; that’d become a real hate crime in a heartbeat.
“pseudojournalism” should give everybody a hint...
Isn’t that a copyright violation?
That way I don't feel I'm contributing to tooth decay.
!!!NO REESE’S PIECES...NO PEACE!!!!
This is satire folks, the daily redundancy is just about as bad as scrappleface.
Of course the solution is to bus them to rich neighbors so they can collect from the rich directly.
