Hillary Clinton reached out to young women voters in an emotional return today to her alma mater, Wellesley College, where she said that “in so many ways, this all-women’s college prepared me to compete in the all-boys’ club of presidential politics.”
It was Mrs. Clinton’s first visit to the school as a presidential candidate, and she chose it as the place to launch an aggressive drive to attract more women to what she is underscoring as her historic candidacy. Mrs. Clinton’s campaign is increasingly counting on women, who made up 54 percent of the electorate in 2004, to help propel her into the White House.
“So let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work together,” Mrs. Clinton told the cheering, standing-room-only crowd of more than 1,000 students in Wellesley’s Alumnae Hall. “We’re ready to shatter that highest glass ceiling.”
Many of the women wore T-shirts that proclaimed: “I can be president, too.”
Mrs. Clinton made no mention of the attacks on her by the male candidates in the Democratic presidential debate in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, or of the “The Politics of Pile-on” video with clips from the debate that is now playing on her Web site. But the theme of her remarks at Wellesley, one of the “Seven Sisters” of all-women colleges that remains all female, was that women have always had to fight discrimination, and still do.

Let’s put it this way, Hillary.
You ain’t breaking the glass or marble ceiling.
Yes, please do roll up your sleeves and stuff them in your mouth.
Well, if she really wants to “attract more women”, Wellesley is certainly an effective place to do it! (Though Bryn Mawr has a bit more of a reputation for having lots of women who are attracted to other women.)
