If things are so bad, why are they so good?
With all the gloom coming out of Wall Street, the Democrats on the campaign trail and the mainstream media, a remarkable thing just happened: Real gross domestic product, the best summary report of the American economy, came in at a breathtaking 3.9% annual rate for the third quarter.
In fact, following the 3.8% growth rate for the second quarter, the U.S. economy has posted its strongest quarterly growth in four years. The economy actually appears to be speeding up, following the relatively sluggish performance of the prior 18 months.
On top of this, the inflation rate is actually slowing down. The consumer spending deflator is reading 2.1% for the past year, compared with over 3% six quarters ago. The core inflation rate is down to 1.9%, below the Fed's 2% target.
Even employment is holding its own. According to Automatic Data Processing's private employment survey, which showed its strongest gain in four months, October looks like it will produce about 125,000 new jobs.

IMHO, today was a perfect picture of that.
While most of working class America twists in the wind, being lucky to have a job with late 90s wages.
If they allowed domestic oil drilling this economy would take off like a rocket.

I guessed this was by Cassandra Kudlow just by reading the title. GDP, inflation, and employment numbers have been actively “managed” for at least the past twenty years. Only an unabashed demogogue could use them as the foundation for this kind of story, especially on a day like today.

Oh that's right, they're not driving trucks, cabs, working in all aspects of constructions, heating and air, all aspects of the food, hotel and restaurant industry, landscaping, warehouse industry, etc etc... and every thing else. They're only picking lettuce right?

A tiny little example here of the fraud that is being perpetrated by business owners, leaving a massive wake of American victims in their path.
Spoke with a courier business owner recently, he hires this guy for a courier position...All his employees drive their own vehicles with their own insurance... A year ago he hires this employee who hands him a copy of his insurance coverage, showing he was insured to drive a white Chevy truck..Your hired. Bingo.
Biz owner did not request any references, none listed on his employment application, and his employment application had no prior employers listed. Hired anyway.
3 weeks ago he ran head on into a female almost killing her..... totalled her vehicle, and *his* black Honda Accord. Turns out his vehicle was not insured.
When others were spoken to, they stated he never drove a white truck, but his cousin owned a white truck. Turns out he just brought his cousins proof of insurance in, in order to get hired for the job, to hoodwink the requirments. The owner new it, as he and no one else ever saw him drive a white truck, only the black Honda on a daily basis.
The accident happened at 3 pm. The owner stated he was off duty at 2 pm. It turns out he lied and knew this guy was working at the time, but he still tried to deny it..saying he was working for another employee who was paying him out of his own pocket. All lies.
Turns out his SSN is fraudulent too in addition to being an illegal alien.
BTW, the young female is still in the hospital, suffering all kinds of major medical problems.

Well not all business are doing things illegal.. I prefer to live in a free market society not some closed society where the Government controls every aspect of the economy.. Comrade...
I never made that claim. Only that tens of thousands of business owners/Corp owners are. And *WE* are all paying the price.
I could tell ya about hundreds of incidents like the one above, and much, much worse...But I'm too tired and don't have the time.

I thought the Fed was worried about deflation—which would be catastrophic. So they lowered interest rates to prevent it.
Problem is, if the inflation rate continues to track downward, they now have little room to maneuver.
You might want to check whether that 2% inflation rate is a “no less than this” or a “no more than this” target.
That BS won't fly with me either.
Once I knew this guy that was really mean; which goes to prove that just about everybody under the sun is a dirty rotten bastard.
On second thought, maybe one little anecdote about one thing that happened once somewhere proves nothing at all. Maybe I'm just cranky and a bit paranoid. And that's why the neighbor kids are all afraid of me.
to not consider what we pay for gasoline as part of the CPI is insane.....
I know for a fact that meat is still high....beef has never really come down from the Mad cow scrare several years ago....milk is more expensive..Corn..veggies....eggs...wheat products...and bread......insurance ..all kinds....has gone up...medical copays have gone up....taxes of every type are higher....
a college education is through the roof.....
the little guy is being killed off..no question in my mind....
