Thanks for the ping. This video touched on a subject within the immigration debate that I hadn’t considered and haven’t seen covered anywhere. We all know that the reason Vincente Fox encourages his citizens to enter the US illegally is to take pressure off of his government to reform. But take that a step further. Take it worldwide. If one of the so called noble purposes of a liberal immigration policy is to allow immigrants to have the American dream, aren’t we hurting the rest of the world as a result? Not just the world’s impoverished that the dysfunctional governments of the world wish for us to take but their best and brightest. We are called the “brain drain” in that the best and brightest citizens of other countries want to come here as well. By taking the masses that could foment revolution, and the elites that could change their countries in numerous ways for the better, we are enabling the corrupt governments that wish them to leave. Promote emulation not immigration. As the video so graphicly demostrates, the sheer numbers will make us worse and the rest of the world no better.

His proposed remedy to this supposed problem calls upon the Congress to lower the number of (legal) immigrant admittances. He neglects to tell us that most immigrants this year choose to circumvent our wretchedly convoluted legal-immigration system entirely and therefore to prosper as fine upstanding members of the undocumented illegal-immigrant community, a status that its holders usually retain for life. The enormous and apparently uninhibited influx of illegal immigrants renders our immigration law increasingly irrelevant. Even totally eliminating legal immigration probably will not curtail the influx of people into this country. We must control our border and work to limit illegal immigration.
