I think the target was something like 12 million (120,000 donors at $100 apiece), so if it isn't met I suppose the headline would read: "Paul Campaign Below Expectations."

The target was 100,000 donors @ $100 for a $10M day. Clearly, that was unrealistic.

But we passed my prediction of $1.6M-$1.7M by noon. So what do I know? LOL.

Anything over $2M will be simply amazing since these are all small donors.

Yes, you are correct. The $12M goal was for the quarter, which still has nearly two months to go.

Given another money bomb dropping on Vets Day, that would seem within reach. After that, donations could slow for all candidates as people begin doing their Christmas shopping.

There were something like 18,000 signed up for 11/5 donations, so it will be interesting to see, at the end of the day (an overworked phrase, but appropriate in this case), whether the typical donor gave just $100 or a lot nore.

Any way you slice it, this has got to be one for the record books.
