Clinton Dons a 1960s-Era Anti-War Cloak

WELLESLEY, Mass. — Senator Clinton is describing her opposition to the war in Iraq as an extension of Eugene McCarthy's position in the 1960s movement against the war in Vietnam.

Mrs. Clinton's comments came at an energy-charged rally yesterday at her alma mater, Wellesley College. Her visit, the ostensible purpose of which was to announce a new Web site aimed at younger voters, hillblazers.com, created palpable excitement on campus. Hundreds of students lined up amid Wellesley's autumnal splendor for a chance to hear the speech of the 1969 graduate and then moved and bopped to the strands of Smash Mouth's "I'm a Believer" and the Police's "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" as they awaited her appearance. A loud "wooo" had followed the exhortation of a male voice suggesting that attendees "get excited" as they entered. The friendly homecoming represented a sharp contrast from Tuesday's MSNBC debate in Philadelphia, when Mrs. Clinton found herself under attack from Senator Obama and Senator Edwards. She credited the school with preparing her "to compete in the all boys club of presidential politics."

In a personal speech, Mrs. Clinton made reference to her own biography, reminding students she was once a student at the college during a time of war.(continued)

Can she be any more of a panderer? I thought she was a college republican, or was I misled?

A better musical choice would have been “I’ll Be Watching You” by the Police.

You cannot believe, Jay, how many people I have met who have told me
that MY book is the FIRST BOOK they have ever read."

She spoke of being rebuffed at an event for Harvard Law School by "Professor Paperchase" who told her "we don't need any more women"

Wow. At the same time that Al Gore was at Harvard inspiring the writing of Love Story? It certainly is a small world.

From Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillary_Rodham_Clinton :

...volunteered for Republican candidate Barry Goldwater in the U.S. presidential election of 1964.[13]

College
In 1965, Rodham enrolled in Wellesley College, where she majored in political science.[15] She served as president of the Wellesley Young Republicans organization during her freshman year.[16][17] However, due to her evolving views regarding the American Civil Rights Movement and the Vietnam War, she stepped down from that position;[16] she characterized her own nature as that of “a mind conservative and a heart liberal.”[18] ... and became a supporter of the anti-war presidential nomination campaign of Democrat Eugene McCarthy.[...

She attended the “Wellesley in Washington” summer program at the urging of Professor Alan Schechter, who assigned Rodham to intern at the House Republican Conference so she could better understand her changing political views.[20] Rodham was invited by Representative Charles Goodell, a moderate New York Republican, to help Governor Nelson Rockefeller’s late-entry campaign for the Republican nomination.[20]

Rodham attended the 1968 Republican National Convention in Miami, where she decided to leave the Republican Party for good; she was upset over how Richard Nixon’s campaign had portrayed Rockefeller and what Rodham perceived as the “veiled” racist messages of the convention.[20]

I wish I had known that she’d be there.Wellesley College is just a very short and easy drive from me.I would have held a sign with Webb Hubbell’s picture on it and the words “I guess I’ll just have to roll over one more time”.

Well there are a lot more boys at Wellesley than there were when I was there. I wonder how it is that they were bussed in from Brown or wherever...maybe her FEC receipts will show. And, “hundreds” of students? showed up? Wellesley has over 2,000 students—WHERE WERE THEY??

Is that really Hillary or a screen grab
from a Saturday Night Live skit?

It has that "look" to it.
