Clinton rejects secrecy charge
By MIKE GLOVER, Associated Press Writer2 hours, 31 minutes ago
Hillary Rodham Clinton on Sunday rejected charges she's being secretive about her role as first lady in trying to overhaul the nation's health care system.
"There's been some misunderstanding and some misrepresentation about what the facts are," said Clinton, the front-runner for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination.
Reporters asked Clinton about a series of charges that have been made about her since last Tuesday's Democratic debate. She shrugged off the attacks.
"I don't think they piled onto me the other night because I'm a woman, I think they piled on to me because I'm winning," said Clinton. "That's what happens."
The New York senator accepted the endorsement of former Vice President Walter "Fritz" Mondale, who won the party's presidential nomination in 1984.
"Fritz and I were just talking about what it's like to be leading and I'm very grateful to be earning the support of a lot of people around the country," said Clinton.
Mondale recalled the attacks he took from rivals in the primary season. "People know the only chance they have is to tear you down," he said.
Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, have been accused of withholding documents from the period when, as first lady, she worked on health care reform.
"The National Archive controls and administers presidential records, that's what they do for every president," she said.

So what explains the fact that the papers have not been released, if everyone is in favor of it?

"Fritz and I were just talking about what it's like to be leading and I'm very grateful to be earning the support of a lot of people around the country," said Clinton.Prayerfully, she and Fritz will be talking the day after the election about what it's like to have your ass handed to you. Fritz "leading"...bwhahahaha!!!!

Most of the documents in question AREN'T IN THE NATIONAL ARCHIVE! They're in the Clinton library in Arkansas.
Bill Clinton can make a phone call to have the documents released.

RUSH:...Now, Hillary has blown it. She has really disappointed them. First with lack of answers -- these people in the media are liberals, and they want to hear it. They don't want to hear full-fledged, but they don't like this hedging. They don't like having to cover this. You can see the impatience in a lot of print journalists' work on Mrs. Clinton. They also don't like the fact that now she's playing the girl, now she's playing the victim. That is genuine; they are disappointed; she has let them down. They want to be able to hear a lie delivered flawlessly.
That's where she doesn't have the substance and talent of her husband. Bill used to be able to give them every lie they wanted to hear as smooth as if it was the truth from God. And they sat there knowing full well it was a lie, or lies, but they marveled. Mrs. Clinton can't do it. Mrs. Clinton does not have one-tenth the substance, nor the skill, nor the talent of her husband in that regard. This campaign of hers, I'll guarantee you something, the Democrats want to shield from the country what they really think about illegal immigration, Mrs. Clinton is going to have to shield the country from what she thinks about everything if she has any hope of getting elected. And she'd have to do that for 13 months, folks. (cont.)

500 FBI Files never recovered. Fault of that guy nobody remembers hiring. They did find a bunch of subpoenaed whitewater files in her personal quarters. She didn’t notice them I suppose, but never, never withheld them. There were a bunch that were burned at some storage facility in Arkansas. Then a bunch of files found in some car that had been impounded at some salvage yard, also in Arkansas. Oh, and what ever happened to the House Banking scandal files most of which involved democrats? The new attorneys didn't prosecute anyone but Rostenkowski. Wonder why. No files, no evidence.
I truly hope that she does not get elected and we do not have to endure the torture of 4 years of this vapid liar.
To: Cicero
One of clintons favorite responses to any accusation while in office was: There is no evidence.I remember hearing it all the time. The legal definition of evidence requires something to have been accepted by a judge into a case in court. That's the definition the Clintons seem to use.
To: Sub-Driver
Here is another example of a Clinton using what seems to be plain English to lie through his (or her) teeth. She says, "My husband has not withheld a single document." Technically, that's true. But it's still a lie.
Bill Clinton, as a former President, wrote a letter asking for a delay -- until after the 2008 election, if you can believe that -- in the release of hundreds of thousands of documents involving him and his wife while both of them were in the White House. But it is the bureaucrats, in response to that request for delay, who are actually withholding the documents.
So, this particular statement by Hillary is intended to give the impression that Bill is doing nothing to withhold the documents. That is the lie these carefully crafted words are designed to transmit.

I believe there are documents at the Clinton Library that have been hidden, the excuse given being that they're just not sorted out and cataloged yet.
And there are some that are claimed to be private communications from advisors and said to be protected in the same manner the Cheyney/Libby correspondences were.
