I’m not a union fan but I have to side with the writers on this one. They really are getting screwed out of money they earned and with the advanced technology they do need to fight what is rightly theirs. That being said, yes, there’s a lot of crap on the big and small screen today, but, what we see is not determined by a writer. If a network or studio doesn’t like a script it’s either trashed or rewritten. Believe me, this can cause a lot of headaches when working in episodic TV. Writers do not have the final say on what is made.

A Seinfeld rerun that I’ve seen before is better than most new material I’ve seen. House and The Closer are pretty good. Brit mysteries and cop shows are far superior to any our writers achieve.

“Once it starts, it’s going to get ugly,”

What, are they going to puncture “scab” tires with Bic ballpoint pens? Make jackrocks out of those little golf course pencils? Misspell words on their picket signs? There’s nothing quite as scary as a unionized television writer :-)

Hollywood hasn’t had an original thought in at least 30 years anyway. No great loss.

That crap is actually written? I had always pictured fields of monkeys pounding on typewriters.

Gasoline up 16 cents in the past two weeks. This news has been carried every hour all weekend and today. The writer’s strike is bigger news. Oh, and Turks are massed on the border and Rice mumbled something about Pakistan.

I think some of the blame could be placed on network execs, some like NBC’s Jeff Zucker are rather evil people in my opinion.

Soap Operas huh...can’t they just make up the dialog as they go along? During my college days we called it...improvisation.

The silly thing about this strike is the only show I watch that will probably be affected is Heroes. Stargate Atlantis is produced in Vancouver so that won’t be affected. And the only other shows I watch are reality TV and Fox News. Oh and Judge Judy too!!! :D

I always love it when the Dog *hit lefty maggots begin fighting among themselves. They fight like trailer trash hoes. And they conveniently forget their socialist bullshit that they try shoving down everyone else's throats and fight for what they’ve earned.

The bastards are commies when it comes to kissing each other’s asses but when it’s their wealth that they’ve earned they expose their hypocrisy.

So Who Cares? My favorite programs are long off the air but are now coming back in DVD sets everywhere that I can enjoy once again anytime I want.
TV was ohhhhhh so much better in the 1960’ and 1970’s when we only had six channels. Cable may have given us more choices, but the choices got worse.

Michael Eisner 'fesses up to dinomedia's new media con.
But what I'm saying is that for today's writers to stop working for non-existent money is stupid. They are misguided. They should not have gone on strike. This is a stupid strike. The studios can't give them anything because there's nothing to give. But this is also the studios' fault -- they've been talking about how great this business is, and now they have to open their books and explain that there's no business. The only one making money is Apple.
