NBC can't leave its green paws off football. Ping to Today show list.

I saw this display last night. They looked ridiculous on the set with the lights way down and candles everywhere. I think one of the commentators, can’t remember his name, thought it was absurd by the comments and sounds he was making during their broadcast.

Cups from corn or high tortilla prices in Mexico. What’s it going to be?

Yes...that’s who it was. Did you get the same impression that I had about him?

The NBC sports panel resembled a bunch of doofuses by their sitting in the dark.
[I don't know who is more irritating, Costas or Olbermann. They are why G_d gave us the mute button.]
Their stunt was about as silly as President Jimmy 'I fought the killer rabbit and escaped with my life' Carter sitting in front of the camera and telling the American public to put on sweaters and turn down the heat.

I didn’t watch the whole thing. I only remember him taking out the flashlight and holding it under his face like a campfire prop.

Paraphrasing mind you:

That was one of the stupidest things I ever saw, having Costas in a broadcast booth with candles lit. Meanwhile, it is a night game played under the lights and the game is being broadcast to be viewed on millions of electronic devices throughout the land.
It provided an opportunity to talk to my son about what idiots these enviro-whackos are ... especially when they mentioned Mr. Pomposity himself, Al Gore as a leading expert in climate change.

I cant wait till next week when the lights are back on and you can see me. Tiki Barber LMAO! Did he really say that? I must have missed it.

Play the damn game during the day.
Remember, it’s a damn game and not a political documentary.

Hardly a man is now alive.. I was but a stripling myself, but I well remember reading of a brief stunt in the late seventies when Jimmah had the eternal flame on JFK’s grave replaced with a light bulb in the name of energy savings. Then Energy Secretary Harold Brown was forced to officiate at the ludicrous farce.
I do not know when the idiotic affectation was undone, but I’m betting it was quietly under cover of night.

Something like that. He tied in the post game ‘talking about next week match ups’ segment with that.

There's nowhere to hide from NBC's omnipresent "Green Week," How wrong he is. I'll wager right now that I'll not see a second of it.

I thought candles were bad for the environment and as a result banned in some churches in Europe(???)

NBC is still majority owned by General Electric right?
To: ChiefJayStrongbow
If it were a short wave broadcast utilizing a bicycle generator, it would be green, IMHGO. Otherwise is poseurs are us.

Am I reading this right? They cover a night game with the field, stadium, and parking lot lights blaring and they turn the lights off in the booth and use candles? Idiots!
To: governsleastgovernsbest
It was a teachable moment for me as I explained to my ten-year-old that this was all political BS, and pointed out how the NBC posturing was completely devoid of substance, and all about fear.
The fact that Matt Lauer was freezing his butt off on an ice floe only helped me.
