Or as Einstein said, “Stupidity is infinite.”

The funniest part to me was when Costas gave the stats on how much electricity they were going to save, it was something absurd like the equivalent of 100,000 homes for a week or something. The message I got was that I don’t need to do anything about global warming because the TV networks clearly waste a lot more energy than I ever will and being as they’re the big users they’re the ones with the ability to be the big savers too.

What the !%#!#!$ has he done besides lawyering and sitting in the Senate and WH?

You give him too much credit. Like that other great poseur, Howard Cosell, he's a law school drop out.

His entire scientific training consists of one undergraduate survey course at Harvard.

Ask him about hypothesis testing or the "scientific method" and almost any second year grad student would run rings around him. He has absolutely no first hand knowledge, nor the slightest analytic ability.

I thought candles were bad for the environment and as a result banned in some churches in Europe(???)

Candles are bad for the ceiling. Burning a few candles at home doesn't generate a visible amount of soot, but all day every day for a few centuries is a different matter.

Now all they have to do is refuse advertising from the EVIL car companies. That way they won't be total hypocrites!

Fake News

[Snip] "Probably the most publicized example of fake news in recent times is the case of NBC's faking a crash test in a story about trucks made by General Motors. The story, labeled "Waiting to Explode?," first appeared on "Dateline" which was then cited as the source for the "news" story on NBC and other networks.
In explicit video, NBC "proved" that GM trucks with gasoline tanks mounted outside the trucks' underframe are prone to explosion when hit from the side. In the NBC demonstration video, a GM truck burst into flames after being hit from the side. A man identified as Byron Bloch, safety consultant, went on the air and described the fire as a "holocaust." NBC reporter Michele Gillen claimed that the crash had punctured a hole in the gasoline tank.
No mention was made of the fact that NBC had attached toy-rocket engines to the truck's fuel tank and then detonated the rockets by remote control at the moment of impact."

I hope they restrict the amount of toilet paper in the restrooms, do not play any games under lights, use natural grass rather than artificial turf and make fans car pool to games.

I'd go along with two of those. There isn't enough parking not to carpool, and artificial turf is of the devil.

Of course, I'm much more of a baseball fan than football, so maybe it doesn't matter so much in football -- and here in Atlanta, Turner Field might have to put down turf, because you don't have to water it.

IN THE YEAR 2000: NBC's SNF Halftime Show will Jump The Shark, when the studio lights are turned off, and the hosts make A$$-es out of themselves...all to promote Climate Change awareness(a phony issue)

>>I’m sure the fans all purchased carbon offsets, so it’s like... so ok. [/s]

You can get your carbon indulgences here:

I wish I thought that site was a joke.

I’m glad I caught this thread. I saw those idiots sitting in the dark with candles, and wondered WTH was going on.
