What’s missing on this forum is outrage at what is clearly an attack on American tradition and Christianity. Instead we make lame jokes about traffic lights as the multicultural advocates crap on us. Such people should be run out of town by an irate mob let alone allowed to hold public office.

Why are they even putting up lights at all?

What's so special on the secular calendar about this time of year?

I can't imagine living in a community that is so.....balless. My goodness if some jerk came up w/ that nonsense around here he'd be laughed out of the joint and if he persisted he'd get his skull cracked.

often still send a message to some members of the community that they and their traditions are not valued and not wanted

Which traditions are those?

Some traditions, and some phony pseudo-traditions, ARE not valued or wanted.

The celebration if the birth of the Savior of the world is not a tradition, it's a living memorial to the second most important event in the history of mankind.

Putting a barbarian heathen cult festival, or a made-up communist propaganda holiday alongside Christmas is what sends a message - and it's not a message that I accept delivery on.

Just put up the menorah and leave it at that.

"A special task force in a Colorado city has recommended...a message to some members of the community that they and their traditions are not valued and not wanted."

“What will be allowed are white lights and “secular” symbols not associated “with any particular holiday” such as icicles, unadorned greenery and snowflakes, the task force said.

Unadorned greenery? What color will it be? I thought green was one of the prohibited colors...

Every left-wing idiot in Fort Collins probably volunteered to be on this “special committee”. Good Lord, these people are tedious.

Yet I’m sure they will take off Christmas Day as a holiday. Let them work instead.

We can celebrate a race related holiday, Kwanzaa
We can celebrate our sexual desires any day of the week while walking down main street and even infringe on a children’s holiday, Halloween.
We can celebrate another nation’s holiday, Cinco-de-Mayo.
We can celebrate another culture’s holiday, Day of the Dead.

Yet these people have trouble with Christmas?

Little colored lights do NOT make a statement, you clods. They bring cheer to a dreary world. Oh, the BIMBOS.

It will be impossible to ban red lights. Have any of you ever tried to drive through on US 287? Expect to be stopped at every stop light and in the downtown area you can stop two or three times at every light. Red traffic lights and red stop lights can not be outlawed and all of this from the city that the school paper gave us “F*** Bush Taz this”

Since they've already banned Jesus from Christmas, this is only the logical next step.

"Some symbols, even though the Supreme Court has declared that in many contexts they are secular symbols, often still send a message to some members of the community that they and their traditions are not valued and not wanted. We don't want to send that message," Seth Anthony, a spokesman for the committee, told the Fort Collins, Colo., Coloradoan.

After all, the Muslim Jihad tradition and the African tribal warfare condition are just as valid as the native culture. /s

Does this “task force” has a name?

Who is paying the salaries of this “task force”?

Who is Seth Anthony? Who are the other members of this “task force” and how many are there on it?

I did a little digging, and I found nothing other than what is posted here. This article is long on reach and short on details. Some nebulous, unnamed “task force” decided that lights of a particular color should be banned, along with the implication that Christmas trees also be banned.

This smells.

Liberals recommend banning Christmas.
