A teenage girl with daddy issues who is easily impressed by a badge and an air of authority.
And I find it amazing how many small-town cops seem to have lots more financial resources that their job description would indicate.
The Trib photo show indicates that he bought her a muscle car as a present.
Come on, my Great Grandmother was 16 when she got married to her husband. He was 42. They had 10 kids together, that was his second marriage (first lady died) and they had 10 together as well. (Of course that was waaaaaaaaaaaaay back then. I remember my Great Grandmothers (both of them, they were both over 100 when they died too).
Daddy issues. Yes, that's probably right. I knew one girl that used to run around with much, much older men when she was young--16, 17. She had serious issues, including dad. Too bad. Nice girl.

I’d say neither were too bright to begin with.
On the afternoon of 18 December 1914 Margaret Lloyd had visited her solicitor in Islington and made a will in favour of her husband. Later that evening 'John Lloyd' told the owner of the house that he was going out to buy some tomatoes for his wife's supper whilst she took a bath.
