Hillary's Mystery Woman: Who is Huma?
Senator Clinton's closest aide, Ms. Abedin never sweats; Oscar de la Renta wants to dress her
by Spencer Morgan
Published: April 1, 2007
observer.com

"It was like 110 degrees outside," recalled the source, a political aide who asked to remain anonymous. "We were all just pouring down with sweat. But I have this distinct memory of Huma traipsing in in this blue pantsuit—it was like this wool pantsuit—not a bead of sweat on her brow, not a hair out of place, with everything perfectly organized in her Yves Saint Laurent handbag."

...The back story, as it were, begins 32 years ago in Kalamazoo, Mich., where Ms. Abedin, who declined to participate in this article, lived until the age of 2. Her family then relocated to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where she lived until returning to the States for college. She attended George Washington University. Her father, who died when she was 17, was an Islamic and Middle Eastern scholar of Indian decent. He founded his own institute devoted to Western-Eastern and interfaith understanding and reconciliation and published a journal focusing on Muslim minorities living in the diaspora. Her mother, a renowned professor in Saudi Arabia, is Pakistani.

Ms. Abedin recently bought an apartment in the vicinity of 12th and U streets in Washington, D.C. ...

Ms. Abedin began working for Mrs. Clinton as an intern for the then First Lady in 1996. She was hired as a staff assistant to the First Lady's chief of staff, Maggie Williams. For several years, she was the backup to Mrs. Clinton's permanent personal aide, Allison Stein, and she officially took over as Mrs. Clinton's aide and advisor around the time of the 2000 Senate race.

Her Presidential campaign title is "traveling chief of staff"...

According to a friend, her favorite designers are Mr. de la Renta, Catherine Malandrino, Charles Nolan and Prada. "And she has a weakness for Marc Jacobs bags," said the friend. "She is known for her bags."

Robert Barnett, the Clintons' longtime attorney, said that in 11 years of knowing her, he has never seen her wear the same outfit twice...

Huma Abedin's father died, about 15 years ago, when Huma Abedin was 17.

Huma Abedin's mother seems to be referred to, variously, as "Saleha Abedin", "Saleha Mahmood Abedin", "Saleha S. Mahmood Abedin", and "Saleha S. Mahmood".

She is believed to be employed as a Sociology Professor at Dar Al-Hekma Women's College, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and it appears that she now holds the position of the Director of the Institute for Muslim Minority Affairs, which was founded by her late husband:

Here are Huma Abedin's known salary figures, as a "Senior Adviser" to Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-NY:

Clinton, Sen. Hillary Rodham (D-New York) 10/01/03 03/31/04  Staff Assistant $9,000.00

Now let's start with that "apartment in the vicinity of 12th and U streets in Washington, D.C".

The most money Huma Abedin ever earned, as a Senate staffer, within a single one year time span, was from April 1, 2005 to March 31, 2006:

04/01/05 to 09/30/05: $17,999.96
10/01/05 to 03/31/06:  $9,999.96
               TOTAL: $27,999.92
Let's see what kind of a 30-year mortgage that salary would qualify her for:

GMAC Mortgage Qualifier Calculator
Cash on hand: $10,000
Interest rate: 6.250%
Term: 30 Years
Property tax: 1.00%
Home insurance: 0.50%
gmacmortgage.com

Monthly car payment(s): $300
Credit card payment(s): $100
Other loan payment(s): $0
Other closing costs: $800
An annual income of $28,000 may qualify you for $54,828 loan.

Monthly car payment(s): $0
Credit card payment(s): $0
Other loan payment(s): $0
Other closing costs: $0
An annual income of $28,000 may qualify you for $82,049 loan.

So it appears that Huma Abedin ought to be eligible for a mortgage loan in the general range of $50,000 to $85,000.

Now let's see if we can find that apartment in the vicinity of 12th & U Streets.

Note that that intersection is also known as "1200 U Street NW", zip code 20009:

Just from playing around with some addresses, I guessed that these were roughly the placements of the Squares:

It turns out that Huma Abedin's apartment is on page two of the Square 0273 listings, specifically Square 0273, Lot 2128:

Finally, let's look at some prices for the designer clothes which Huma Abedin wears and the designer handbags which she carries:

Strange Bedfellows
The Daily Oklahoman
September 6, 1995
EDITORIAL

CONSERVATIVES and Christian family values advocates have an unusual ally at the Beijing World Conference on Women: Islam.

While the Muslim viewpoint on issues is seldom extolled in this space, it is not possible to remain silent on this. Muslims want greater emphasis “on family, spiritual and religious values in determining, evaluating and improving the status of women in society” and other changes in the conference platform, according to a letter from the Muslim World League to Gertrude Mongella, secretary-general of the conference.
Like the American conservatives and Christian groups attending the conference, the Muslims believe that bedfellows should be male-female - and married. Saleha S. Mahmood, director of the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs in London, says the 121-page platform draft carries a “hidden agenda” that is anti-male and biased against strengthening traditional families.

The conference, which formally opened this week, is a sham that will cost millions of dollars just so anti-traditionalists can stroke each other and feel good about the progress they are making. But these women, which include Hillary Clinton, do not represent a mainstream viewpoint in either Oklahoma City or Tehran. They only represent themselves.

Feminists will be quick to point out that repression of women is a problem in several of the Islamic societies. That is certainly true.

But if repression is the real problem, why have such a meeting in one of the most oppressive lands on earth? The real feminist criticism of Islam is that even in its most contemporary branches, women fill traditional roles. And, in much of the world, many woman are comfortable with that - a fact which Hillary & Co. refuse to accept.

Millions of women celebrate being wives and mothers and reject the notion that every woman should have a career. Islam upholds the much older notion that the female role in reproduction and in protection and care of children is paramount.

According to a Reuters News Agency dispatch, Egypt’s most influential Islamic institution, Al-Azhar, believes the women’s conference contradicts religion and seeks to destroy the family.

We agree. While women have every right to be more than wives and mothers, those who chose to be solely wives and mothers should be esteemed. The United States should not have sent any delegation to this stupid conference, much less one headed by First Careerist Hillary Clinton.

Her decision to go was the best propaganda stroke Red China has been given in a long time. And China, remember, is the place where women are more repressed than just about anywhere else in the world.

The obvious answer is her parents are from Saudi and have money from their families. She may be an agent but it is not the only answer as to why college professors from Saudi might be richer than you expect. Lotsa money there.

Abedin is running her campaign or a good part of it. She is hill’s scheduler and right hand person. There is nothing that indicated they are best friends or lovers and it is wildly speculative to pass that off as truth.

Professors may or may not have big salaries and insurance policies but they can have wealth especially from the middle east. I have known one woman, a doc, who was a very very rich family.

You don’t know that this woman is a wahhabi.

This is scurrilous. It does bear looking into but the charges I am reading here disgust me. More with freepers than with this woman.

We need information not prurient gossip that reveals more about the gossiper than the person.

Her parents are NOT from Saudi Arabia.

Her father was from India. Her mother was from Pakistan.

The $64,000 question: WHY did her parents uproot the family, from Kalamazoo, Michigan, and head halfway across the globe, to Saudi Arabia?

Who was footing the bill? WHY were they footing the bill? What did they expect to receive in return?

And how does a girl who has never earned more than $28,000 in her life become the sole owner of a $649,000 condo?

Frankly I think it plausible that you are correct. And IMO..that would be the logical thought. But, just because you know one woman "doc" from a "very, very rich" family...doesn't make it so.

The problem with the Clintons...is we know what they are capable of. It's like the person you know who is a liar and a cheat....and you don't trust them for nothing. They could tell you the sun comes up in the east...and you'd look at them cross-eyed.

FWIW-

Well, rich people abound in India, Pakistan and Saudi. Surely we can agree on that.

Besides, I am busy like a bee tracking down her relatives. And I think the political element is way more interesting and damning than any sexual fantasies of Freepers about Hillary. In fact, that sexualizing aspect of freepers/some freepers/ opinions is one that I think leads us astray and into bad repute.

I think Bill Clintons greatest sins were political and involved selling out our country. His dalliance with Monica was trivial beside those. But that is just me. Sexual scandal never seemed nearly as important as betraying your country.

Huma has deep ties to people who are political islamists I do believe.

Totally agree with you...cajungirl. I think it totally in character for Hillary to be courting the ME $$$..because that is what THEY, the Clintons are about. $$$ brings POWER...and that is what SHE especially craves.

I'd bet a bunch of coin..THAT is the connection between them. MONEY!!!

A FIRESTORM OVER WOMEN’S RIGHTS
The Palm Beach Post

Palm Beach Post Religion Writer

EXCERPT

Many Muslims feel that much of the platform document is contrary to significant parts of the Koran and fundamentally undermines the best interest of women, according to Dr. Saleha Mahmood, director of the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs in London and representative of the Muslim World League, which has observer status at the United Nations.

“The document is flawed. The language it does contain is largely anti-male, anti-religion and anti-family. It omits language honoring women’s nurturing role or promoting the desirability of stable families,” she said.

The voice of the Muslims living as minorities: missionary instead of political Islam

Here we shall draw attention to the voices of two Muslim Indians - Syed Zainul Abedīn (1928-1993) and Maulāna Wahīduddīn Khān (b.1925) - whose thought was first shaped in the Republic of India, the home to the numerically largest Muslim minority in the world, a minority however, which comprises not more than 12 percent of the overall Indian population.

Both, the all too early deceased Dr. Syed Z. Abedin as well as Maulana Wahiduddin Khan grew up in undivided India. In their college and university days they experienced the passionate ideological and political disputes of the fight for independence of India and for, respectively against, the creation of a decidedly Muslim, and later Islamic, state of Pakistan. The development of the thinking of these two scholars was shaped by such far-reaching and decisive questions as e.g. the relationship of Islam to the modern - from the point of view of culture and of religion plurally composed and secularly constituted - national state; how Muslim could thrive as a minority within a democracy that, by definition, is largely ruled by majorities; how Muslims would relate to the caste system (perceived as structurally-cemented and religiously-justified injustice).

After studies at Aligarh Muslim University Zaiunul Abedin was close to the "Jamā´at-i Islami-i Hind" and later in the United States, which he took during his student years in Philadelphia as his country of adoption, he became in the early 1980's councilor of the "Rābitat al-'Alam al-Islāmī" (Mecca). He established the "Institute for Muslim Minority Affairs" in Jeddah with a branch in London and founded and directed for many year its important organ, the "Journal of the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs". Abedin´s thought merits to be kept alive, because he emphasized in prophetical foresight the fundamental fact that today at least every fifth citizen of the world is Muslim and a third of the total number of Muslims live in non-Muslim states. Abedin was concerned with bringing the problems of this growing third of the Muslims that by now lives world-wide in minority situations, into the forefront of the consciousness not only of the Muslims but of all those who today and in future reflect about Islam.

ELECTION 2008
Hillary takes cash from terror suspects
Muslim donors targets of federal investigation
Posted: November 4, 2007

Presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., has taken thousands of dollars in cash donations from Islamists under federal investigation for terror-financing, money laundering and tax fraud, WND has learned.

The Democrat senator over the past seven months has received $1,000 from M. Yaqub Mirza and another $500 from M. Omar Ashraf, federal campaign records show. Federal agents raided the Virginia homes and offices of the Muslim donors after 9/11 for ties to terrorism.

Others tied to the still-active probe also have contributed money to Clinton, including one Muslim man who after 9/11 complained the U.S. government should focus on changing its Mideast policies instead of killing Osama bin Laden and other Islamic terrorists.

Mirza, who also has given to other candidates, including Republicans, is said to act on behalf of Saudi millionaire Yassin al-Qadi, who the U.S. Treasury Department in October 2001 blacklisted as an al-Qaida financier.

More recently, Wachovia Bank closed the accounts of a shadowy Muslim charity supported by Mirza after an entity controlled by the Pakistani immigrant donated $150,000 to the charitable front, known as FAITH. The bank in 2005 cited suspicious activity in its accounts related to possible money laundering.

Mirza and Ashraf, who have not been charged with a crime in the ongoing probe, control with several other Islamists some 40 Muslim businesses, charities and think tanks known collectively by law enforcement as the Saudi-backed “Safa group.” Their offices are located primarily at 555 Grove St. in Herndon, Va., a suburb of Washington. The Muslim World League, a Saudi-based charity linked to al-Qaida, originally set up its U.S. branch at that address with the help of Mirza.

Isn’t it wonderful that during these troubled times the Democratic party’s leading contender for the office of President of the United States has a Muslim whispering in her ear and advising her on a daily basis. Hopefully Hillary can keep her around if she wins the election to give advice on prosecuting the war on terror and how to handle Israel.
