When we were kids, my brother and I used to always get our butts whipped by my dad for hitting my sister, LeVita.
As the only girl at the time, she would run to Daddy and tell him we hit her. So, believing his baby girl, he took it out on us. But one day he was at the kitchen table and watched us play in the front yard and his eyes lit up. He saw his baby girl hit me and Reggie, and when we hit back, she ran screaming into the house to tell him the usual tale. This time, Daddy spanked her for instigating the fight, and then for trying to get us in trouble.
Daddy had to explain to LeVita that when you hit boys, sometimes they hit back.
That story came to mind as I read Geraldine Ferraro blast the Democratic presidential candidates for their tough questioning last week of Sen. Hillary Clinton during the latest presidential debate.
Clinton herself kicked off the "woe is me" routine when her campaign accused her rivals of "piling on" when they took exception to her multiple answers to the question of illegal immigrants' getting driver's licenses in New York, and the release of her papers to the president during the two terms of President Bill Clinton.
Then of course, she went to Wellesley College, her alma mater, and talked about the school preparing her for the "all-boys club" of presidential politics.

Hillary ain’t got it so tough. Women in Iran/Saudi; now, they’ve got reason to bitch...
And they will vote their vaginas, and She Who Must Not Be Named will ride the hormonal tide to the WH.
Want me to save you a barstool in Cebu if that happens?
2ndDivision Vet, your dad was a genius.
When I was a little girl, my brothers would hit me. I’d hit back. No parental favoritism, no whining. The way it should be.
It’s a viable option. That, or buy that sailboat and take off, and watch the People’s Republic of HillaryLand fade over the transom...
In that 24 hours, the debate and the recovery attempts after, Hillary demonstrated that she is the opposite of former Prime Minister and now Lady Margaret Thatcher. Sheesh.
"The federal government should be making immigration policy, and that's what I'm going to do as president again..."
Read that again!
The federal government should be making immigration policy, and that's what I'm going to do as president again...
READ THAT AGAIN!
That's what I'm going to do as president again...
Rush is right - this needs to be hammered, and he just showed the GOP what to do. This woman wants her third term as President!
Also, how about her husband’s claim that Hillary’s being ‘swiftboated’? Asking a potential president the hard questions and coming down on her for her doublespeak answers amounts to swiftboating? Maybe on Wikipedia, but not in real life.
hilleree wants to play in tbe big leagues...well, she’s there now and she CAN’T STAND THE HEAT so she DOES need to get out of the kitchen. She’s so dependent she’s pitiful. A word to hilleree...this presidency DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU MY DEAR NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU THINK IT DOES. You are probably the least qualified out of the whole bunch and it SHOWS. Can’t lean on willie forever...ya gotta get out there on your own and you cant. You stumbled and you will stumble again. By the way hilleree...you’re not running against President Bush...you are running against others...are you too stupid to know that too????
The Clinton Camp has so many trial ballons in the air at once they are running them into high tension lines.
She played the gender card, then backed off when she caught flack only to try the same hand again in a local yokle version of it at Weseley (all the while trying to back away from the gender card nationally). That might have worked in the old days with a hide-covering media and no blogasphere. But those are the old days. Today local is international via the internet. Weseley words are heard...well all the way to China.
They also tried to trash Russert. and that not only did not work well but it also got the media ticked off at her. I think that is why they are actually not 100% lock step at the moment. They want the Waar Room to know they can dictate agendas but not kill their saints.
So, when MY kids came a runnin', I told them work it out. It was their problem...not mine. They're all best friends!!
I think that they are slowly but surely getting the media ticked at them. The head honchos at the media will not enjoy being threatened by them during the election cycle. Matthews has turned on her-many more will follow.
Right. And Obama and others have publicly taken issue with Bill coming to Hillary's defense on that one. They didn't like the comparison to the "swiftboat" reference AT ALL!!!!!!!
As president Again, can’t we just
impeach her again? Why wait?
I didn’t like Hillary to begin with, but I never thought she’d stoop to these tactics. What an embarrassment.
Hillary is committing political suicide so efficiently, it's almost a shame for us to help her.
The entire Hillary camp is in "Oh My God, Wadda We Do Next" mode. She has 700 people working for her and they still can't come up with a script to Save Hillary's Backside.
It was a laugh when she went to Wellsely the day after her debate flop----as if nothing happened. Now she's incommunicado---trying to dig herself out.
Betcha the debate flop affected her fund-raising and public appearances scheduling.
As for the $$$---she and Bill will launder some of their offshore money---then use ID theft to makeup a bunch of "consributors" for the FEC---to make voters think she's still The One.
Hillary is a wimp. First real question she gets, and she backs away crying foul. what a turd. As Presidential Candidates it is expected they will face tough questions and provide straight answers, not cower away crying foul. Hillary = sheltered rookie
