'EDUCATIONAL": That's how President Vladimir Putin's entourage described the Russian's recent whirlwind trip to Tehran.
Islamic Republic President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hyped the 36-hour visit as a "historic event." Some Western commentators even suggested that Putin and Ahmadinejad planned to create an axis to counter Western influence in the Middle East.

Putin seems clueless about religious fanatics.
“It was clear they lived in a world of their own.””
As is at least half of America and most of the rest of the world.
Good morning, Vlad.
Putin got checkmated by Islamists. :)

Talk about picking to play for a losing team.
I’ve warned you in the past about excerpting NY Post articles, and this time did it for you. Now look what happened. It’s the software.
That's the whole truth and nothing but the truth!
The Russians and the Chinese, in general, and the Western World in particular, have to realize that they can't deal with or appease a leadership of a terrorist regime that takes its direct "orders" from a ghost!
The simple formula is: if you talk to a well, you can't have nuclear weapons, period.
What if the hidden Imam "decides" to wipe out a Russian or a Chinese city? LOL
It was clear they lived in a world of their own.”
“”When it became clear that we were talking to the wall, there was no point in attempts at creative diplomacy,” says the Russian source.”
Been trying to tell everyone that for years.
Maybe it’s finally sinking in. Are you listening State Dept?
I did excerpt the article.
If Putin thinks that a nuclear exchange with ground-zero Iran will not "affect" Russia, he's as even more ignorant than the illiterate Iran leadership.
“What if the hidden Imam “decides” to wipe out a Russian or a Chinese city? LOL”
I remember watching a show in the late 1970’s about Nostradamus and how NYC gets nuked and Iran becomes a ME superstate and turns on Russia. I am thinking it was Late Great Planet Earth but can’t quite remember...
“If Putin thinks that a nuclear exchange with ground-zero Iran will not “affect” Russia, he’s as even more ignorant than the illiterate Iran leadership.”
Or it could be that is exactly what Putin wants. A nuclear exchange in the ME would instantly cause a global depression. The West’s strength comes from financial dominance. It takes money to wage war and for R&D of advanced weaponry. Right now our military advantage is miles ahead of the Russians. Russia has it’s own energy supply.
If the West was knocked down a peg or two while recovering from a global depression from a ME conflict, Russia could make a move on Europe. I never thought it was wise to push Democracy so fast on Russia’s borders. At least not with a KGB agent running the country. Countries serve their own interests. While Russia was extremely weak we furthered our agenda. Russia appears to be using Iran to weaken the West’s position and further their agenda of a revived superpower ‘motherland’. President Bush was correct in saying that an Iran with nukes could easily turn from a ME nuclear conflict to a global one. Putin obviously does not get it or foolishly believes such a ME conflict could be contained. I guess he hasn’t studied 50 years of Presidential policy that the USA is willing to wage all out war to protect our energy supply and way of life.
To me, becoming energy independant is the solution to unlimited economic growth and eventual true prosperity to the rest of the globe. Too bad their is so much selfishness and greed from our leadership right now. It seems we are all but guaranteeing the war of Gog & Magog and the final WWIII conflict as spoken of in the book of Revelations.
Only we can allow this prophecy to come true! We can't allow the money/power hungry Russia and China to fool around our security. They wouldn't like anything better than seeing us quite hurt.
France came around already but the rest of the West is waffling and still leaning towards their Euros. Euros that will be spent one day on raising their capitals from the ashes.
I don't know what are we waiting for, except the fear of liberals who keep putting sticks in our wheels and warning Iran of what's coming.
Somehow, I still believe that President Bush will not leave this job to a successor, no matter who that might be.
Putin was head of the old KGB. He’s probably atheist or at least agnostic. This trip to Iran may have been “educational” in that he may now realize that those Iranian mullahs must NOT get nuclear weapons at all costs!............
Uhh, don’t they do that just before they start a war?
Ahmadinejad is his own worst enemy... what an idiot!
If that is, in fact the same guy in both pics, then I want whatever it is that keeps him from aging........We were married the day before the hostages were taken in ‘79. I was 24 then. I certainly don’t look like I did on my wedding day.....................
Late Great Planet Earth was Hal Lindsey, IIRC, not Nostradamus............not that there’s much difference.............
Putin has really put himself in a box here. The Russians have much more to fear from Iran than the USA in the short term. With Islamofascists in their southern regions such as Chechnya, the Ruskies can ill afford to piss off the mullahs. It has always been a mystery to me why the Russians would provide any help for Iran’s nuclear program. The hard currency they gain is more than offset by the potential that a nuke from Iran could be smuggled into Moscow and exploded. I think the runup in oil prics has allowed the Russians to distance themselves from the Iranians. Now that Putin has seen firsthand that the mullahs and President A-nut are not rational, he would be wise to not oppose more sanctions. However, the Iranians appear drunk on their oil wealth and poking the US in the eye, and they will not take kindly to Putin continuing to delay completion of Buesher nuclear plant. Of course the Chinese will not support any meaningful sanctions due to their lust for oil, so even if the Russians do not stand in the way of more sanctions, the Chinese will. Final thought is if Iran is attacked, oil goes to 150-200 a barrel and the Russians make out big time. They seem to be in the catbird’s seat, they win either way the Iran situation goes. If negotiation works, they get to build nuclear plants, sell arms to Iran, etc. If negotiation fails, oil spikes and Russia wins also.
Uhh, dont they do that just before they start a war?
I believe so, it’s like the last chance before we come for your head, or some such nonsense.

These are short, and best read in order:
Islam Vs. The West:
Part 1: http://freenj.blogspot.com/2007/08/islam-vs-west.html
I Learned a new word today. Eschatological, Webster says:a branch of theology concerned with the final events in the history of the world or of humankind.
I wonder if Putin knows that the "final event" IS the end of the world INCLUDING Russia! What a moron!
Thanks for the link!!
I don't know about that...maybe he realizes that a Iran-Chinese partnership is far more dangerous to Russia than if he jumps in bed with Ahmanutjob himself. Iran is just a pawn to China and/or Russia right now. They'll encourage and support Iran in their quest to wreak havoc with the west, even if that causes a major war. Either Russia or China will sit that one out (depending on who's the #1 friend on Iran's list) and then swoop in before the dust settles. They'll eliminate Iran once and for all and reap the dirty, bloody rewards. One big problem with that scenario...unless you're a raving lunatic (Ahmanutjob) what is there to gain with that result? There could nuclear fallout, devastated countries and dire consequences everywhere. Who wins in that case?
Red Badger’s right. The Nostradamus movie was “The Man Who Saw Tomorrow”.
Very interesting article. Thanks for posting link.
Putin has proclaimed his Christian faith.
Good, now let’s see him practice it!.........
That's the crux of the matter. Ahmadi-Hejab WANTS the world to end so his hidden Imam can pop out of the well!
He already paved a road from the well to Tehran for that purpose but never thought that there will be no motorcade or people to escort His Eminence, the Imam, to a Tehran that doesn't exist! LOL
That was "The Man Who Saw Through Time" or something like that. Narrated by Orsen Wells. Great bomb shot on New York. Great movie.
444 days of captivity??
I think it's one thing to hear about them, quite another to actually try to deal with them.
I can see the scene in my mind's eye ... maybe 6 hours in. "Well, Vladimir, what do you think?" "Sergei, these guys are nuts. They're f***ing loons. Holy crapski!"
It is in our future, could be 5, 10 or 20 years out. You can already see signs of it now, helping them build the nuclear reactor, supplying them with lots of weapons, Russia and Iran (Persia) will unite against Isreal, for truly the mother of all battles, Armageddeon.
Putin is Russian Orthodox.
As is foretold.
President Vladimir Putin had better wake up and smell the roses, they could care less about the help and backing he gives to them. When it’s all said and done he is no different than any other person in the eyes of these morons.
Convert or die is the only choice.
Only an idiot or a servant of evil could witness the Islamofascist massacre at Beslan and then aid an Islamic dictatorship in developing nuclear weapons.
Maybe this special Iranian went outside to read their history with Russia.
The fruits of appeasement. Of course they are right, Putin does need them. He needs them to be proxies in his war to push the US out of Iraq and Afghanistan. By choosing to be America's enemy, he has thrown his lot in with the global jihad. He might as well convert to Islam, he is already an honorary mohammedan just like his comrades Hugo and Fidel.
PootyPoot would look great in a burqa
“I think it’s one thing to hear about them, quite another to actually try to deal with them.”
Bingo. Putin is nothing if not pragmatic, and oriented on building a power-base piece-by-piece, with rational long-term objectives in mind. Surely his dealings with various world leaders have shown him that most are either similar to him or rather more corrupt and subject to influence if it works in their interests to some degree or other.
It must be an eye-opener to come fact to face with heads of a nuclear state that borrow lines from the street-corner preacher of doom.
“Bingo. Putin is nothing if not pragmatic, and oriented on building a power-base piece-by-piece, with rational long-term objectives in mind.”
I will add that he has done a pretty darn good job from his perspective on a domestic level, with apparently more state control of resources, and political control of the State than ever before, even with public assassinations of dissidents and maybe even intimidation/assault of an *AMERICAN* TV commentator who spoke disparagingly of his regime after the radioactivity assassination.
Sucks for the US, but one couldn’t hope to have a yeltsin forever.
