Anti-war protests have returned to the Port of Olympia with the unloading of a military ship bearing Army gear from a Stryker Brigade that recently returned to nearby Fort Lewis from Iraq.
According to an initial news release Sunday from Olympia Port Militarization Resistance, the group at first did not plan to try to block cargo from being sent from the port to the Army post ...
Late Monday, however, after the arrival of 950-foot roll-on, roll-off cargo vessel, group leaders said a series of votes and discussions resulted in a change in strategy.
"As long as the war in Iraq is going on, it's all part of the revolving door," said Andrew Yankey... "They're just shipping it in so they can ship it back out,"...
The Brittin was used to haul the gear of the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), which recently completed a 15-month assignment in Iraq.

I wouldn’t get in front of a Stryker. But they might.
Bjornstad said that blocking the vehicles on a public roadway is illegal, and anyone doing so is subject to arrest.
Civil disobedience is not a right, its a decision,”

Arrest does not get it without at least a year in jail and a few thousands fine. I have never heard where an arrest of these jackasses does any good without real punishment.
Over the weekend vandals smashed windows at the New Apostolic Church in west Olympia and at the Flood the Sound Church just a few miles away and spray-painted anarchist graffiti along the path between the two churches.
That kind of made us suspicious, Lt. Chris Mealy with the Thurston County Sheriffs Office said.
Graffiti left on a nearby store said No Port MilitarizationOly unite.
According to detectives, they are wondering if the attacks on the church are somehow a twisted effort to protest war.

Last week, Port Commission President Paul Telford contacted two peace activists, City Council member TJ Johnson and Lawrence Mosqueda, a professor at The Evergreen State College, to inform them of the impending arrival of the Brittin ...
With traitors like these interfering with military movements. They should have a load of these to clear the way.

105mm M1040 Canister
The antiwar, anti-American leftists were just killing two birds with one stone, hopefully the detectives didn't wonder too long about it.
City Council member TJ Johnson and Lawrence Mosqueda, a professor at The Evergreen State College
Both are moonbats of the first order and real losers, they've been involved in protests for years.
Port Commission President Paul Telford gave them a heads up.
Seems nuts ?
thanks
I got to see what happens two years ago when a female driving a Ford Explorer pulled in front of a Stryker in a convoy and jammed on her brakes. He couldn’t stop fast enough and smashed her explorer flat right up to the front seat.
I went to college in Olympia and reading this stuff just makes me sick to my stomach just as it did when I was in school there. I was liberal when I went in and watching enough of these yahoos at work and listening to the half baked ideas of the teachers that preach, preach, preach awakened my inner conservative. Also I like to think and make clear minded arguments based on facts etc so needless to say these people didn't offer me much except role modeled well a good communist.
I still can't bring myself to contribute financially as a Evergreen Alum. If I do it will be in a very focused and specific area that has to do with actual thinking, learning and if it is artistic intelligent art (in my opinion as a conservative and an artist.) Don't see a lot of that coming out of there. Most kids are wasting their time being brainwashed, many unbeknowningly.
Evergreen is home to some real live nut-cases. Do they get federal funding?
Actually no. She was going too fast and needed to take the upcoming exit. Instead of merging in (matching speeds and using signals) she squeezed in front of him then hit the brakes in anticipation of exiting. It was ugly but I believe she lived.
(I wonder if she learned anything? ;’}
Evergreen State was St. Pancakes’ alma mater. Anyone waving banners yelling “For Corrie!”?
Some of these anarchists are well known. Some just need to start disappearing and the problem will go away.
LLS
I’m thinking “Gitmo”.

At one point in our history that sob would have been removed from his position and prosecuted for aiding the enemy. And so would the professor.
But now our Nation is so riddled with traitors such as these......
Evidently the good people admired johnson enough to elect him the their city council.
This tells me all I need to about both him and them.
The Stryker driver should have shifterd to a lower gear, floored the accelerator, and kept going. If the bitch was killed, so be it. There is no telling how many deaths of our, well mine anyway, troops she is , by her acts , responsible for.
“Anti-war protests have returned to the Port of Olympia with the unloading of a military ship bearing Army gear...”
Let’s fix the lead so it’s more accurate:
America-hating Democrat protestors have returned to the Port of Olympia with the unloading of a military ship bearing Army gear...
I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure they do. It's got to be one of the most liberal colleges in the country and that's saying something.
Your remark reminded me of a letter to the editor at The Olympian some years back.
A lesbian musician complained that people mowing their lawns on Saturday mornings drowned out the sound of birds singing and that she and her partner couldn't hear them when showering in the morning. I kid you not. LOL!
I wrote a reply to the paper but it was never printed.
Oh, so basically she pulled the ole “race up to the exit in the fast lane then cut folks off and stomp on the brakes to get off” routine?
I saw an ass do that in front of a Tractor trailer once. The truck hit him and must have spun him round a dozen times. Looked straight out of the movies. No one was injured.
That ship was unloaded without interruption, and the trucks proceeded to Ft. Lewis without incident.
Some of the lefties might have gotten arrested with their stupid signs, for trespassing, etc. , but that was the extent of their big “blockade”. Whoop-de-doo.
a very positive advancement and further proof of Darwins theory
Looking back I was ripped off with all my brain washing classes and arm twisting (through covert grade manipulation) of the content that was acceptable in my papers. Such as it did not fly when I was critical in a paper of the labor movement from a ownership perspective. lol. I was a business woman that owned my own business at the time and prior to attending college in my mid twenties. I said to the professor, "I thought this was my paper not yours." I learned to ingest his politics as mine if I was going to get a decent grade. This was over a decade ago. Since then I have learned I should have just handed the paper in, let him grade me down and taken his ass to court or something of the like. The emergence of Fox New Channel and the new media has changed everything for the positive for students. Now we can take our cases to the media, before we were just kinda stuck with sucking it up.
By the way in my recently completed Master's program, I asked one professor going off in class for about 45 minutes of a 2.5 hour class at how screwed up Mel Gibson's film was about Christ if the professor had seen the film. He ordered me to leave the classroom!! (Which I did not as I said this is America and I just asked one question, "Had he seen the film." I also was graded down to a B+ grade at the end of the semester for just that one question and the ensuing comment. I performed as an A student on all levels. This crap starts in the classroom many times. Our young children are brainwashed by these communist wackos all over America. But I don't have to tell any of you this. I am just venting.
Latest Olympian Coverage... Look for us in the gallery later, I think the Olympian dude filmed us. At least 12 arrested as protests move to downtown, I-5 entrance
Didn't take us long to find the action... look for the cops... :~)
Cops are lining the street... The port entrance is to the left... We just parked here awhile and watched what was going on.
Lovely members of the other side... Olympia has an eclectic mix of protesters... the black clad militant anarchist types...
And the hippies...
I sortof wonder how these two groups even get along... it makes for an interesting group dynamic. "What's our theme song... The Clash or John Lennon?"
So what would happen here is that for a long time nothing would happen, and then a convoy of empty trucks came through... these are, in part, the guys we saw at the truck stop having breakfast.
And then for awhile nothing would happen.
Eventually the corner where those protesters (above) are standing cleared out and some left, I guess to go up to block the freeway... and the rest, either by cop or by choice, moved across the street from where they are now to the opposite corner.
So we moved over there... behind the cops :~) Here's me in the truck...
We were joined by some others... The chick in this truck was really gung ho...
So instead of the protesters, we lined the exit to the port... Here's ecurbh helping to put flags up. The guy in the orange is with the Port, and thanked ecurbh and us for coming out in support.
Cop petting Gidget during a down time... :~) I love the boots. :~)
Convoys coming through...
One guy trying to sit in the street.
Cop on right keeping him out of the street by assuming a calm assertive stance. If he moves... the cop on the right just has to say Psssst! ;~)
So there's our day...Then my camera battery died! :~0 Several other supporters and lots of flags showed up... we sat through another convoy, but then had to leave. By then it was in good hands... :~)
Thanks for all the pictures.
the Sport at the Port :~)
BRAVO!
3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team)
My former comrades in arms.
Scouts out!
I spend a lot of time (probably too much) downtown Olympia, I love the farmers Market and a lot fo the little restaurants and even have a favorite little coffee shop over on Capital (Avenue?)
Anyways, it is really sad that these leftist types seem so pervasive in what is otherwise a really nice downtown atmosphere.
The place most Americans protest is inside a voting booth. Most of these “protesters” are probably not even registered. They usually say voting is useless because the system is corrupt. If we had any other system these “protesters” would be in a forced labor camp or a mass grave.
Will we ever have a President and an Attorney General with the backbone to arrest these idiots and bring charges against them?
There must be accountability and a cost attached to unlawful behavior. As it is now every wingnut and dingbat in the country feels free to aid our enemies.
If action had been taken against traitors and anarchists back in the Vietnam era we wouldn't have such a problem today. But its still not too late.

Seems like the useful idiots have it all wrong...
You’re supposed to block the stuff on the way out...Not on the way back home...
What a bunch of dunderheads...
Someones going to get a healthy set of noogies for missing that opportunity...
Personally, canister ammunition IS useful in a variety of situations...Including this one...

Commissioner, District 3

That was my thought too. They need a new Port Commission ?
Lets start with this friggin’ idiot:
Last week, Port Commission President Paul Telford contacted two peace activists,
Why the hell can’t they shoot these hippie wanna be’s and has beens? Step a toe in the way and POP.
Seems to me that “loose lips sink ships” is a good idea to remind this “port commissioner” of the liability of informing people or groups hostile to this countries interests is seditious??? Much less than treasonous...
And in his position he is privy to information that could be used to do great harm to those interests...
We used to hang/shoot/imprison people and throw the key away for life for these things...
Seems to me a nationwide FReep-a-thon of this guy would be in order...
Get into contact with the other two commissioners, the Oregon Attorney General and ask why has this not been investigated???
I mean in reality nothing happened to the ship and the personnel onboard...
But if I was on that ship coming in and there were these hostile elements distracting the local and state law enforcement in having to deal with the unwashed...And a terrorist decided this was a juicy opportunity to take some materials out of commision...
I believe people have gone to prison for life, for less...
Enough is enough...
Locals should do a FReep on this guy.
Aiding the enemy in a time of war...
We need George S. Patton.
Thanks george76.
