We find foam rubber that has been sewn together to fit over shoes, abandoned near where they get picked up by vehicles.

Like any invaders, these illegal aliens expect us to pick up their trash, support them, given them special perks, learn their language, etc.

In the early 1990s there arose a movement within The Sierra Club
to make a clear pronouncement against illegal immigration due
to the ill effects on our southern border areas, as well due to
the added strain on infrastructure by the arrival of millions
that don't hardly pay for that infrastructure.

IIRC, there was a months-long discussion and the final outcome was:
The Sierra Club...just...couldn't...bring themselves to defend the
environment against the illegal invasion because to do so would
have made them sound like Republicans (well, at least the Republicans
of the early 1990s!).

Although I never had been a member of The Sierra Club, this erased
any good will I held for this group of hypocrites and
environmental-degradation-enablers!

Maybe Sheriff Joe could be persuaded to move some of his chain gangs of illegals down to the border to clean up the litter of their compadres.
