I think you may be right. Fred comes across as less than fully dedicated to the task. Rudy rubs many in the GOP wrong. Mitt is a worker.

Tonight on Kudlow Mitt was using New York Times lefty Thomas Friedman as inspiration for more boondoggle ethanol and bio diesel. I was kind of stunned. Friedman's like uncannily perfectly wrong.

I like Romney, I really do.

On the other hand, he completely miscalculated and screwed us all in the Commonwealth with the outrageous mandatory required health/medical plan.

He has to acknowledge that error before he’ll get my vote.

Mitt’s campaign has been best so far. He started as an unknown challenger with 0.01% probability of getting the nomination, but he campaigned wisely. His money and business contacts surely helped but even more important is that he started visiting Iowa and NH relentlessly in 2004-2005, campaigning for local candidates, getting to know local people and setting up local campaign offices.

Iowa should have been the state where Fred Thompson starts his campaign with a win (against Rudy). For some unknown reason, he didn’t bother to campaign there or set up offices. He didn’t even bother to visit there too often (and canceled few times). Now it is too late for him. I just cannot understand this (if he really wanted to win).

Similarly for other candidates. They underestimated Mitt. Even Rudy could have been strong in Iowa (just like he is tied with Mitt in SC) had he campaigned aggressively in Iowa.

Note to future candidates: You cannot win by not campaigning aggressively!

Lazy candidates will not win. POTUS is not a 9-to-5 job.

He’ll have ten thousand appointments and trillions of dollars will flow through the staff.

Care to bet, for anyone, there will not be scandals?

“there won’t be any scandals or personal embarrassments in his presidency.”

This remind me of his comment: “What happens in Disneyland, stays in Disneyland” (referring to his trip there with his sons).

God help America.
Just what we need - - another flip-flopping Massachusetts liberal running for President.

Governor Mitt Romney, surrounded by chuckling Democrats, signs socialist health care into law.

If you're suggesting that Reagan was lazy, you're confused beyond measure.

Reagan took naps. That does not mean he was lazy. He worked tirelessly to win the 1980 nomination for president. And it was his second try. He had invested an enormous amount of energy in 1976 and came within a hair of knocking off Ford, a sitting president.

I know. I was very involved in politics then.

Fred doesn't have one-fifth the energy or desire that Reagan had.

Mitt is the closest candidate we have to Reagan in terms of energy and commitment.

"Socialist" health care means apparently means health care that prys freeloaders off the public teat and requires them to purchase private insurance.

Weird definition of "socialism" on your planet.

we have similar pictures of G.W.Bush (NCLB etc) and Reagan (amnesty etc etc).

Do you reject Reagan and G.W. Bush, as well?

(yeah, I also hate Reagan for amnesty and Bush for amnesty/NCLB/SeniorPresc but I still admire them for their leadership.

Also, what about this: (http://www.campaignfinancesite.org/book/html/234.html) The McCain-Feingold-Thompson proposal bars the national parties, federal officeholders, and candidates from soliciting, receiving, or spending any funds that are not subject to the limitations and reporting requirements in federal election law.

The fact is, that even the most conservative politicians do occasionally work together with liberals. Even Thompson, Bush and Reagan.

I meant this:

we have similar pictures of G.W.Bush (NCLB etc) and Reagan (amnesty etc etc) siding with Ted Kennedy in a signing ceremony.

Yeah, sure it will. Welfare grandmothers all over Boston are whipping out their checkbooks as we post. And business owners are so thrilled to be paying more overhead that they're doubling Christmas, er, Holiday bonuses this year. Do you believe Larry Craig has a "wide stance", too?

Mitt easily defeats Hitlery next November.

Interesting statement. He seems to be the one in double digits that performs the worst against her in the polls.

Romnney has moved up against Hillary. He is still largely unknown. Everyone knows Hillary and Rudy. I expect him to continue to rise as people start to focus on the candidates.

I like mitt, too.

And semper911 - thank you for your service!
Where would we be without you?

His is the face of the American Hero,
His is the heart of the American Dream,
His is the voice that cries out Freedom
He’s among the Best we’ve ever seen.

The Best and Brightest go before us,
They form the Shield that protects and saves,
This Land is surely the Land of Freedom,
And we thank God for the True and Brave.
