So which is more extreme: Judaism with its hidden circumcisions or Mormons with modest underwear with a couple of Masonic symbols? I'm curious.
Are you guys aware of some of the other traditions about modesty in religious circles? For instance, the first nudist association in the U.S. was formed by a Baptist minister. YMCAs originally offered only nude swimming, supposedly due to clogging of pool filters from rough bathing suit fabrics of the era. Christian organizations have repeatedly sprang up which require worship in the nude, for instance the Adamites and others.
Adamites
My point is that a lot of people don't realize the really great diversity in religious traditions and how they're affected by contemporary culture and how they evolve over time. I suspect a lot of folks don't grasp the development of women's underwear or even when they started wearing it (and it was pretty
recent). Those long skirts had a purpose, you know.
This stuff is really so unimportant. I just can't quite imagine voting on the basis of someone's underwear. I mostly just don't want to know about it. Ever.

This stuff is really so unimportant. But it's FUNNY.
They don't have sacred magic hats or shoes or coats...
They had to opt for the sacred magic underwear.

Ah, so Mormons are bad, among other things, because they have "sacred magic underwear".
So then would you regard Jews (who are circumcised for religious reasons) as having "sacred magic penises"? (Maybe SJackson will insist they are, LOL, he can address that if he likes). But then would the yarmulke be considered a "sacred magic hat"?
Is that what you actually believe? If not, how can you be anything but some kind of bigot against Mormonism and employing a double-standard on Mormons that you would not apply to Jews? The very idea that you would apply it to Mormons and not to Jews indicates you're a shallow thinker or might hold to a certain repugnant ideology which you are not admitting publicly here at FR.
Admittedly, it's a peculiar and rarely heard argument but I don't think Jews would hesitate to discuss it if it came up in debate among libs or Dims or among Jews themselves. Jews have had a pretty blunt way of debating these matters for thousands of years. So I don't think this post is over the line. SJackson is free to flag the mods to remove it if I've stepped in the Big Doodoo unintentionally. And I do support the right of families to circumcise or not to circumcise for either religious or health reasons.

Cleverly done piece of trash push-polling. I especially find intriguing this angle: use a polling company based in Utah so the knee-jerkers will "see" a pro-Romney conspiracy.
Obviously, but for different reasons, it hurts McCain and Romney.
Who stands to benefit? Every other candidate, including Democrat candidates.

“i may be mistaken, but didnt mccain do something like this to bush back in 2000? i instantly thought of mccain when i heard this.”
I think in 2000 a push poll smear was done on McCain in South Carolina. It was suggested that he had a fathered a black child.

How will you answer your God at the final judgment? I doubt He will be cross with me for making fun of Mormon underwear.
