Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter will arrive in Nepal on Wednesday for a four-day visit aimed at helping to consolidate the country's peace process, the Carter Center said here Sunday.

Carter's visit is aimed at "encouraging Nepal's political leaders to make a sustained effort toward peace and to achieve a climate in which a constituent assembly election can be held," the Atlanta-based center said in a statement.
