What I received from my so called representative
Email from my "rep"My so called rep bragging about his cowardly work

Posted on 11/19/2007 9:19:53 PM PST by paul51

On Tuesday I voted to end the war in Iraq. Finally, the House of Representatives passed a bill that provides money solely for the purpose of withdrawing our troops from Iraq. Though the bill, HR 4156, must leap high hurdles in the Senate and again at the White House, I am proud to have cast my vote to get out of Iraq and bring home our troops.

The bill passed 218-203 and joining me in this vote were my strong anti-war colleagues such as Rep. Barbara Lee and Rep. Lynn Woolsey. The majority of 'no' votes were cast by Republican members. During debate the dividing line between the opponents of the bill and the proponents were clear: this vote meant the difference between staying in Iraq with no exit strategy or getting out. I voted to get out and I was pleased to see the bill pass. If you are interested in viewing my participation in the floor debate, click here.

In addition to providing funds to pay for bringing home our troops, the bill requires

- That troops begin to leave Iraq in 30 days, and all troops be brought home no later than December 31, 2008.

- That no troops be sent to Iraq unless they have proper equipment and training.

- That no torture shall be employed by any American personnel.

Though this bill has a tough road ahead, I want to assure you that I am committed to ending the war in Iraq and bringing home our troops. The House vote on Tuesday night, in my mind, is a step toward making that happen.

Sincerely,

SAM FARR

Member of Congress

To the Honorable Sam Farr:

Today’s politics allows you to say you’re bringing the troops home when, in fact, you’re surrendering.

We have never had an enemy that willingly saws the heads of innocent persons, uses children as their shields, allows honor killings and the stoning of women. Now, you want to stop the fight against them and bring the troops home. What will happen after that?

You must have an answer to that. If not, you’re a coward who wants our nation to be known as cowardly. Don’t worry, your entire party seems to feel the same way.

The white flag democrats are betting our future on the willingness of the brutal people that they will respect our nation and never invade another country, especially our own. Tell me, how much are you willing to bet on such a proposition?

You just bet OUR lives.

Peace, Dude. Love, Dude.

I’m usually opposed to harsh partisan judgements, even on Free Republic. I have to admit, though, that you have posted one of the most detestable documents that I have ever seen.

What possible excuse can this man make for his betrayal of his nations interests during an armed conflict? The man has no sense of how others will judge him.

A more modest statement of his preference for the earlier ending of the U.S. role in Iraq would have been appropriate. I would have disagreed, but I understand that others must stand forward with their principles.

This is a simple statement of an intention to force the nation to lose a war. There is no defense on the grounds of humanity or pacifism or anything else. He seeks defeat for his own country and makes no bones about it.

It really is outrageous and the fact that he seems so proud of his actions is hard to stomach.

Sam Farr was a pasty-faced puke thirty years ago and apparently has never changed. Back then he was just another leach-attorney practicing in Carmel. How you people elected him to Congress is beyond me. Back then, we wouldn’t have voted for him for dog-catcher.

Good reply. It should be sent almost verbatim to this scum of a politician.

Criticize President Rodham and the S.S. WILL kick your door in.

BTW, this was scrappleface, right? Farr isn’t a real person, is he?

Ask him if he’s aware that troops are already leaving.
