He’s very good and I read all his articles on Iran and most others on the mideast.
But he wasn’t in Washington or the White House at the time (he was in Iran), and besides ineptness, doesn’t seem to appreciate the depth of Carter’s Left-wing political bent.

So what I meant was, there are several takes on the reasons for Carter’s abandonment of the Shah and backing of Khomeini. This is Taheri’s.
