'BLAME U.S. FOR 9/11' IDIOTS IN MAJORITY

By ANDY SOLTIS

November 24, 2007 -- Nearly two-thirds of Americans believe the federal government had warnings about 9/11 but decided to ignore them, a national survey found.

And that's not the only conspiracy theory with a huge number of true believers in the United States.

The poll found that more than one out of three Americans believe Washington is concealing the truth about UFOs and the Kennedy assassination - and most everyone is sure the rise in gas prices is one vast oil-industry conspiracy.

Sixty-two percent of those polled thought it was "very likely" or "somewhat likely" that federal officials turned a blind eye to specific warnings of the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

Only 30 percent said the 9/11 theory was "not likely," according to the Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll.

The findings followed a 2006 poll by the same researchers, who found that 36 percent of Americans believe federal government officials "either assisted in the 9/11 attacks or took no action" because they wanted "to go to war in the Middle East."

In that poll, 16 percent said the Twin Towers might have collapsed because of secretly planted explosives - not hijacked passenger jets flown into them.

And what hit the Pentagon? Twelve percent figured it was a US cruise missile.

Anger at the federal government and skepticism in general by younger Americans is fueling the popularity of crackpot conspiracy theories.

"This is the result of public education."

You beat me to it but yeah, combine the pathetic level of public education with the constant "Blame America First/Corporate America is Evil" drum beat coming from the MSM, and there you have it. Two thirds of the country have become terminal navel contemplators. We really are in big trouble in this country. Whats left of it anyway.

Well they did have warnings of unspecified attacks and did not take them seriously enough. But that is much different than most Americans believing that the US had specific information and let the attacks happen, as most of the DU goof balls believe. We've had warnings of terrorist attacks for decades.

All these types of polls are a joke. What did they do, ask 100 people and 36 of them gave them the answer they were looking for? Did they actually ask 36% of the American people? These guys are fools.

Come on, guys! The Federal Government did have “warnings” that something was going to happen. The problem is—they were vague, subtle, and isolated. In addition, the rules back then made it almost impossible to connect the few dots there were. But saying there were warnings is Not an untrue statement. However, this is a LONG WAY from a conspiracy theory that the Government was actually behind 9/11.

I suppose it would depend on how "specific" we want to get. There is no doubt in my mind that Clinton ignored some warnings and covered up others.

Well, in a way they are right. We knew big terror attacks were coming for decades and did nothing but threaten Israel and give our terror-funding Arab "allies" a total pass. Carter got the ball rolling by installing the Ayatollah. Reagan gave Hizbollah and its Syria/Iran sponsor a total pass by turning tail and running after Beirut 1983. Bush 41 gave the PLO new life by screwing Israel to the floorboards at Madrid and funding Yasser Arafat for the first time. Clinton put the Israel-slam into full-motion, while ignoring terrorists completely and even rejecting opportunities to kill or take custody of Bin Laden. Bush 43 is the least culpable of all, because his people were barely 5 months in place when the attacks happened (due to the FL recount delay). Unfortunately Bush is now returning to the same, tried and true disastrous Jew-baiting policies of the past by enabling his Saudi-stooge Condi Rice to hold yet another "screw Israel" conference which stabs a valued ally in the back while rewarding only those who want to destroy everything America represents--those who literally danced in the streets while the Towers fell.

Will we ever learn?

"If I Forget Thee, O Jerusalem, Let My Right Hand Wither" - Psalms 137:5

"I will bless them that bless thee (Israel), and curse them that curse thee" - Genesis 12:3

Push poll. Depends what the questions were.

For instance, I remember when UFO fever was widespread, and books were coming out every few weeks. Now, I don’t know anyone who ever even thinks about it.

But what do you say if someone asks you if you think UFOs might exist and the government might have covered it up.

You can’t prove a negative. You can’t prove something doesn’t exist. You can’t prove the government didn’t secretly do something. And frankly the government is stupid enough to do just about anything.

So, would I answer a positive “No” to that question? Probably not.

And did the government know that terrorists were threatening an attack on the US? Of course they did. Clinton repeatedly ignored terrorist attacks or covered them up. But the question doesn’t mention clinton, of course. The implication is that it must have been Bush.

There’s no simple yes or know answer to the question. Clinton certainly screwed up repeatedly in this area. Democrats undermined the security agencies and built walls of separation between them. Bush inherited that mess, and because of the chad war and confirmation blockages, only named an FBI director a week before the attack. And Tenet at CIA was clinton’s guy.

Did Clinton deliberately ignore terrorist threats? Yes, probably. Did Bush deliberately ignore terrorist threats? No. But those weren’t the questions that were asked.

"Does that make me crazy?"

Probably not. Of all the wacky conspiracy theories out there, the UFO one actually makes sense in it's own way. If the government had discovered an artifact of alien design containing highly advanced technology, it would be madness to allow that kind of information to fall into enemy hands until it was thoroughly understood and implemented by us first. Having said that, I have yet to see any incontrovertible evidence of a UFO cover up. <;-)

“This is the result of public education.”

No doubt! And these dolts writing or dreaming up these theories should have considered a career as screenplay writer. They give even intelligent students or graduates, just enough information to make it plausible, while spinning and distorting the facts. While they may have made an excellent movie, in a twisted espionage sort of way, young Americans do not have the experience, the knowledge in engineering, codes, metallurgy, or anything else to decipher these things.

You couple that with them being taught in school to feel guilty about the fact that this is the greatest country God gave man, and they believe it.

Well of course. But most of these young people, believe the WTC buildings were actually imploded, that the planes didn’t take them down. They also believe Clinton/Bush team worked together on it. I still hear “fire doesn’t melt steel” and ok, but the fire wasn’t hot enough to melt steel”, “the buildings came down in less than 10 seconds, they were imploded” and “what about building 7”

There doesn’t seem to be any way to convince them otherwise, even when you tell them who is behind these theories, and who is backing them and feeding the flames. It’s heart breaking to me.

Wait a minute, here. This question was not asked correctly, because there are legitimate responses as well as kook responses that could be counted together.

What if the question was re-phrased: “What responsibility does the government have for the 9-11 attacks?”:

1) Some parts of the government had some information they were not allowed to share or consolidate with other parts, because of existing law, which could have led them to conclude that an attack was being planned or about to be carried out if it had been shared and consolidated. (reasonable)

2) The government knew about specific targets and that an attack was imminent, but chose to do nothing. (kook)

3) The government was involved in carrying out the actual attack. (very kook)

You can see, big difference in how you ask the question.

Agreed, there are subtle wordings about terrorism warnings that Freepers could agree with. Less subtly — the CIA failed us and we have not addressed the problem. The American people know that there is a problem, but because of the media and pool political leadership (even on Bush’s part), they are having trouble crystalizing it.

I have no opinion about UFOs, but it is indisputable that "the federal government had warnings about 9/11 but decided to ignore them." I also believe that the CIA killed President Kennedy, using their mob and Cuban assets.

I and most people who feel the way that I do want to slash the federal government to the bare constitutional essentials. No CIA, federal reserve, social security, income tax, UN, NAFTA, Medicare, Medicaid, etc., etc., etc.

These same people can't seem to grasp the fact that the Clintons failure to actively pursue the terrorists after the first WTC attack directly led to the ensuing Khobar Towers attack, the attacks on the US. embassies in Tanzania & Kenya, the attack on the U.S.S. Cole, and ultimately 9/11. They also probably don't believe that Clinton had several opportunities to gain custody of bin Laden, but repeatedly turned it down.

I'd bet the correspondence between Hillary and her hubby that's being held from the public would show the extensive role she played in all the screw-ups of that Administration.

The 9-11 truthers agree that “it’s our fault” but they disagree on basic elements of the theory:

1) we knew but we let it happen ANYWAY

2) we knew but the planes wouldn’t have done enough damage so we put explosives in place waiting and waiting to detonate them and to blame it on Iraq even though we’d have had “forthknowledge” that it was Saudis doing it.

3) we did it to ourselves with a hijacker crew of blond white “Timothy McVeigh” types (this was the first theory to spring forth within the first week, courtesy of Lyndon LaRouche’s supporters. I think Michaal Moore wanted all of the journalists he could to provide him the “supressed” details about the hijackers being white (he was in the throws of editing Bowling for Columbine and was dumbstruck at how this massive attack was pulled off WITHOUT guns); he blogged his request on his site. It is probably still there.

4) We did it to ourselves with remote control airplanes that flew into the WTC towers and a missile painted to look like a plane in DC (why not just use missiles in all of the attacks? Where are the people from the plane that disappeared and was replaced with a missile?).

5) Then there are those who proclaim that “we did nothing” to stop the attacks but are certain that the military shot down the plane in Pennsylvania. Didn’t they want the other planes shot down too? Which is it? Or was there no winning move to please them?
