Can I give a shout-out to my alma-mater, UCF, playing for the CUSA Championship next week

I see a WVU-Mizzou championship game, with WVU winning. When Pat White is healthy, WVU is unstoppable. Dont know if Mizzou could keep up, but would fare better than some of the other BCS contenders

Hope Hawaii gets one of the BCS Bowls...sched was easy but are undefeated with Washington coming to the islands next weekend

I’m looking forward to OU/Missou, too. I saw OU play once early this year and was impressed as usual. But what I saw last night convinced me that Missouri can play with any other college team around...

" If OU had played their backup quarterback more during the second half of games OU was leading by 17 or more points, perhaps it wouldn't have taken till the 4th quarter for the OU offense to start clicking."

What you said.

It would not suprise me if it comes down to WVU/Mizzou in the bowl championship. WV will come out the winner in that one. A preview of that bowl win was what I call “the piling on bowl” of WV/CT, and guess who came out looking every bit beaten, yep you got it, CT. I do this with a “g”, but less then 24 hours ago, I would have been crying. At least Mizzou has the tools to give WV a long drawn out fight on the field. WV is just simply too hot to be touched. But also a bowl championship will give a new found respect which is needed to the Big East.

Hawaii is another true up-and-coming football team that I got the pleasure to watch that WAC Championship game.

“There’s only one undefeated team: University of Hawaii! They should be number 1!”

We found out in the case of Kansas how much an undefeated record against a weak schedule is worth.

The first game of the year I saw Missouri play Illinois and remarked to some of my buddies that the Tigers looked scary.

Missouri has born out what I thought then that they are a team to be reckoned with.

Can OU beat Missouri next Saturday night?

The answer is definitely yes but it will take a perfect game from all of Oklahoma's players and coaches.

Unlike those fans and prognosticators who's bias gets in the way of their judgment I believe Missouri is a number one team.

The Missouri vs Kansas game was exciting and even though Kansas failed they should be proud oaf what they accomplished.

I PREDICT that if Missouri (and they look awesome at this point) plays in the BCS game for the National Championship they will win.

Go Oklahoma play lights out and beat Missouri is my bias as a long time Sooner fan.

Who in the name of the Gipper has West Virginia played that would say there a number one team.

The schedule of West Virginia is weak mediocre to weak with the likes of football powers Western Michigan, Marshall, East Carolina, Syracuse and yes South Florida which ultimately proved to be a fluke.

The only reason Rutgers and Louisville were rated is because of biased sports writers like Stewart Mandell and Eastern based sports magazines need for a highly ranked East coast team.

I would rate West Virgina behind Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, USC, Florida and a couple of others.

If West Virginia wants a good butt whipping let them climb into the arena with a solid Missouri football team.

Watching the Tigers defense tee off on Mountaineer offense for four quarters will make that Eastern bias taste like crow.

They will need to have a pass rush....

They've got a good/great defense..but you can't expect D-backs to defend for 5-7 seconds every pass play.

Maybe English comes back...healthy and ready to go. Also..I was impressed with J. Beal the freshman DE yesterday.....

We shall see...!!

Go Sooners!!

Well...you know what happened to my team (Oklahoma stole our coach, but I'll get over it)...
Seriously, Missouri reminds me the the great old Michigan teams. Very smashmouth aggressive and run right over their opponents on the ground.

That is suprising considering Hawaii was a joy to watch, a team I have never seen before. Their evergreen or Christmas tree green uniforms are soft on the eyes. Hawaii should have been ranked as the true number 1 and not LSU. There is a lot of bias on the coasts and it shows against teams like Hawaii.

Mizzou is one that does not take any prisoners. They are one tough team. Those Tigers ate the Jayhawk bird until there was just feathers.

Sounds like the Razorbacks/Tigers game on Friday. Best call was when there was less than a minute to go, and the refs gave LSU a second sideline warning (after Les Miles ran to the Arkansas 5 yard line to call time out) before LSU scored to send the game into overtime. A second sideline warning?

I did some research today and I have seen the 2007 WV schedule and the teams you have mentioned in the posting, Western Michigan, East Carolina, and Marshall got soundly defeated by WV. As far as rank, right now Mizzou and WV are right next to each other, 1 and 2.

Besides Pat White, there has been mentioned on this thread what is called a “spreading offensive” form for the WV team. Mizzou is the ONLY team that can take on this WV offensive format and win. Right now Mizzou is the strongest for the Big 12 in a weak conference, not withstanding Kansas U. The Big East is an emerging confernce, with teams that are up-and-coming. Right now the true powerhouse is WV. Keep an eye on the Big East, the conference to watch in the years ahead.

Just checked the new rankings, Mizzou is in the number 1 position, following by that of WV.
