This guy didn't see the same It's Wonderful Life, that I did.
The world could use a few more George Baily's if you ask me.

Brutal, but well done. :)
To: mware
Not only that - Georgie is obviously profiteering by selling sub-standard houses to scads of illegal immigrants! The man deserves some time in Club Fed. :-)

Some movies should never be colorized, A Wonderful Life is one of them.

The world could use a few more George Baily's if you ask me. Alas all we keep getting are more Uncle Billy's.

I guess we’re so far into the “me” century that people forgot there was a time poeople care about society, the town where they live, their family and their friends. Potter is trying to establish a monopoly so he can charge what he wants and he would have turned Bedford Falls into a taudry sin slum. I guess gambling, prostitution, and drugs mean nothing to this author, who must celebrate the coarsening of public life that has steadily eroded our common decency.
To: WashingtonSource
To be honest I don’t know if he just forgot to mention he was being sarcastic or not.

I bet the author forgot to add a /s tag.....or Kyle Smith believes this.....I know not which. I’ll bet on the lack of a /s tag. Wonderful movie, worth watching again, and again.

Seems he saw the same one I did.As long as things were going his way, George Bailey was a pillar of the community. Let him screw up and send his addle brained uncle to screw up a deposit and he unwinds. Lie about what happened, attempt a cover up, and when that fails, get drunk and commit suicide.
Not much of a positive message if you ask me.

I’m hoping he was being sarcastic, but I’m not betting on it.

I never got that part of the movie. Why was the uncle depositing that money in Potter’s bank?

Fig. I think that was the point in the movie. You do not know just how your life affects others. George Baily was given that opportunity with the intercession of God and a charming but bumbling angel

I guess were so far into the me century that people forgot there was a time poeople care about society, the town where they live, their family and their friendsNot at the expense of the taxpayer they didn't. Of course this 'simpler time' that so many seem to long for, the government wasn't taking much money (if any at all) from your paycheck to make things 'better' for someone else.
