MY Bumpersticker Message: Convert not Coexist
Gop3.com: The Triumvirate ^ | 11/26/07 | Daniel Suhr

You have all doubtless seen the COEXIST bumpersticker on the rear of a car in front of you while driving through Madison or the East Side.

Todd McMahon created a parody, substituting two of the symbols in the middle to make a point.

Charlie Sykes posted the parody on his blog, and has taken flack from the Left for doing so.

In the spirit of the blue bumpersticker, here is my suggestion:

WOW!!!

That original “alternative” bumper sticker is truly a powerful statement. Very effective response.

Hope they’re for sale soon.

This is a joke right? You’re just pulling our legs. Surely, no one is stupid enough, or derange enough to actually put the “Coexist” bumper sticker on their own car. If there’s a big market for that amongst voters in the U.S. — the world’s hyperpower nation — then I’m gonna start digging a bunker.

Be sure your bunker is adequately PC.

You should probably hyphenate it to be sure:

“Bun-ker”. :)

I’ve seen scores of them on cars here.

The most recent one was sharing space with a Code Pink bumper sticker...

I have seen a significant number of these COEXIST bumper stickers in the San Francisco Bay area. This is a direct result of the liberal education in our public schools

Get some white adhesive shelf paper, print it on a color printer, coat it with clear Krylon spray, and you have one...

They’re in SoCal too.

I saw one last month on a SLOW hyundai being driven by a stoned-looking, plump 17-looking girl with a bowl haircut. The other bumper sticker on the car, read “Stop racism”.

I was so inspired, I’ll now be voting for Ron Paul. :)

Great. I like it, but it was bad enough in 2004 getting my car keyed by the Looney Leftists in "The People's Republic of Madistan" for my Bush/Cheney bumper stickers, LOL! Those anti-Christ types are REALLY mean around here. ;)

Krylon huh?

Hadn’t put that part of the equation together. Thanks. :)

IMHO this is a pretty good example of something, I notice. We’ve all seen liberal “incrementalism”, how every year, every month, every week, America becomes just tiny bit ... then a tiny bit more ... then a tiny bit more socialist.

It’s because liberals continuously use emotion, far more effectively than conservatives. And the reality is, emotion works. It shapes societal readiness, to accept change.

As we all know: change is defined as “progress”. Even if the change involves breaking things which are perfect, just the way they are.

Those original (liberal) “Coexist” bumper stickers are emotional appeals to be non-judgemental, this poster’s impression is, that appeal to be non-judgemental is directed especially at non-muslims, especially about muslims.

Its more general emotional tug is all religions are the same, we’re all peaceful as marshmallows, and should respond to terrorism by holding hands and singing “Kumbaya”.

Obviously, that’s profoundly naive.

Thing is, it’s also effective. Even more so, because conservatives (never) respond in kind.

That’s why from my viewpoint, the alternate sticker is almost stunningly effective. It goes right to the connection of that naive liberal feel-good but foolish emotional appeal — and shows it for the naivety, it is. Couldn’t be more clear.

(though if I put one on my own car, I’ll be sure to photoshop in a small “*yes it’s sarcasm” note at the bottom.)

Just to prevent anyone thinking I’m advocating actual support for a couple of those symbols...

It’s very powerful though.

Conservatives should do more of this. It would be very effective.

...alright! I will admit it: I always interpreted that stupid bumper sticker as "GEOIST." I knew it was a panty-waisted liberal message and I thought it was a reference to earth worship.

Ya learn something new every day!

Print up ones that just say, ISLAM. Red letters on white back-round. Then put them on STOP signs. Actually, you could just make stencils and spray the letters on.

If you can find a plain white bumper sticker, you can put your own message on it.

The nuclear weapon of such messages is simple, and should be reserved for only the most obnoxious, most offensive, nasty and repugnant lefties. Be warned, it could result in violence, so while you can keep one discreetly in your glove compartment, it should only be used when your really want to kick their behind. BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO LEAVE FINGERPRINTS!

It simply says: NAMBLA

They will be lucky to make it a mile before someone just goes off on them. It could get real ugly if a policeman sees them.

I saw a car with a bumper sticker that said Islam: the religion of forgiveness and peace. No, it wasn’t a parody. It’s a Muslim that owns the car.

They are a way of saying all religions should hold hands and sing Kum-ba-ya - or the Coca cola commerical song.

The “Coexist” bumpers stickers can be translated: I’m A Doofus.

After all, if they have a Coexist bumper sticker, they must live amongst other people. They certainly wouldn’t place the Public Service Announcement on their bumpers so they could remind themselves of this gem of an ideal before/after getting in/out of their car. Aren’t they Coexisting if they live in a community, travel the roads with other motorists, shop, dine out, attend Earth Day rallies.

The “coexist” bumper sticker intends to project this message.... the driver believes that if all peoples of all religions would just be respectful and tolerant of each other, then the world’s problems would go away.

I see these all over Chapel Hill, NC. It makes me CRAZY! It’s like, well hell, why didn’t I think of that!? You’re so brilliant! Can I stand next to you and enjoy the radiance of your genius? Hello, Condi? Tell those fanatic Muslims to coexist with the Jews. Call the bad guys in Darfur and tell them they need to coexist with the people they’re terrorizing. Heck, FDR should have told the Japanese to coexist with us in 1941, and we wouldn’t have had to go to war.

It’s the most unrealistic and childish approach to the world’s problems EVER.

I wish I could turn back time, wave my magic wand, and give every last one of the advocates of that “coexist” philosophy an opportunity to board one of the Sept. 11 planes and convince those terrorists to coexist with them.

Brother Andrew’s Open Doors ministry is preaching the gospel to moslems, sometimes right into the very terrorist organizations that cause so much trouble like Hamas, PLO, and various jihad groups.

http://sb.od.org/

The ministry of Open Doors began in 1955 through the call of God to one man, Brother Andrew, a native of Holland, to “Awake and strengthen that which remains and is at the point of death.”

Fifty years on, the call to awaken continues to find its echo throughout the world. Bible delivery and leadership training have been core to the whole ministry. The fruits are abounding -

Open Doors - The First Fifty Years
Believers under communistic regimes have found their faith in God reaffirmed; minority believers in Muslim lands rediscover their status in Christ; brutalised Christians in Latin America conflict zones are comforted through an ongoing presence ministry.

Brother Andrew’s first book, ‘God’s Smuggler,’ is an all-time great in book publishing terms.
Available in twenty-seven different languages, ‘God’s Smuggler’ has not just been a book but an agent for change. It has helped redefine the boundaries of modern missionary endeavour and has aroused millions to the awareness of the Suffering Body of Christ in areas of limited access.

The ministry continues through an active band of full-time workers and volunteers accepting that there are no closed doors to the Gospel and the Word of God is not in chains.

Ministry Highlights
1955 Brother Andrew, founder of Open Doors, makes his first trip behind the Iron Curtain to take Bibles to persecuted Christians.

1955-65 Open Doors expands its network throughout Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union.

1965 The first Open Doors team travels to China.

Project Pearl - delivering a million bibles to China
1965-78 Open Doors expands to bring Bibles and encouragement to Christians in the difficult areas of Asia, Africa and Latin America.

1978 Contact with churches in the Middle East begins.

1980’s As persecution grows worldwide, Open Doors intensifies its prayer and Bible distribution campaigns, and begins holding pastoral training seminars.

1990’s With the fall of the Iron Curtain, Open Doors accelerates its work to take advantage of the new opportunities. The battle intensifies in China, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

Now As the spiritual battle intensifies and persecution increases in these last days, Open Doors will continue to go where faith costs the most, to equip and encourage Christians who are suffering for their faith world-wide.
