You have to not just cut it up, but call them to close it or it’s still open.

You are much more right than I was. Cats are the freeloaders.

Cats and my Uncle Ernie.

No doubt about it. You are correct.

I was kidding about all this freeloading dogs stuff.

Dogs are liberals.

Cats are conservatives.

Dogs are freeloaders, and feel a “need” for being taken care of.

Cats are perfectly content to live on their own and do their own thing, but will certainly appreciate a good friend.

Leaving them open is better for your credit score though.

However, if they begin charging an annual fee, they have to notify you, and you cancel it at that point.

Not sure I’d walk 100 feet out of my way to pick up 10 dollars, much less get in a fight about it.

When I read the article, I thought the same thing. Much ado over $10. But it wasn’t the $10, it was the credit card that they were going to max out with no intention of paying back. That caused the riot.

Someone who shops there and who is perfectly willing to steal and cares not at all about ever having a good credit rating and who intends never to pay for the goods they've charged.

I think the scam is to get a credit card with a $4000 limit issued to Donald Duck living at 123 Main St., Anytown USA.

Repayment really isn't part of the program.

I got a Mastercard in the mail from a store account that I had cancelled years ago. And I cancelled it good, with a letter requesting, and a letter confirming. I still have them on file.

So when a unrequested Mastercard showed up at my house, issued by GE Financial Services, I called and asked them what the heck was going on. They told me that the card was issued on the defunct store account, but if I did not want it, it would cancel itself if I did not use it for thirty days.

WRONG ANSWER!

Hoo, boy, was I steamed! It turns out I had just ordered some big-ticket GE appliances, which were promptly cancelled. Idiots.

I think the poster was just expressing frustration with this particular group of people who called the cards “free money”. The same type of people who believe every time there’s a flood or hurricane it’s time to break a few windows & go “shopping”. I didn’t take it as a broad brush insult to people who have store accounts.

You could paint the broad side of a barn in one stroke with that brush...

This is a story about a brawl that broke out among some specific people who were quite enthusiastically applying for Kmart credit cards. The question was asked why anyone would want a Kmart credit card. I described what I thought to be likely atributes of these participants in this brawl. Your reply to me is a baseless, unintelligent accusation. Go see Al Sharpton for your cookie.

I don’t need a cookie.

Yeah, the observation of the people in the fight was correct...but don’t assume anyone wiht a K-mart card is in the same boat.

Although I haven’t personally shopped at a K-Mart in a long time...

"Are you kidding? Dogs are freeloaders. They never do any work that produces either a product or revenue, they sleep most of the day and all of the night, yet they get free meals and snacks, and free massages any time they demand them."

My dog is a simple mutt from the animal shelter and she does work. Her job is to watch my back when I sleep and if there are strange noises while I am sleeping she alerts me to them. I am able to be awake before anyone successfully breaks into my home in which I have time to grab my gun. For that, she is rewarded with a loving owner, good food, and a warm home.

Plus, she greets me like I am a rock star every time I come home.

. I had only kept it originally because Sears is a great place to shop for major purchases.

Yes it is. But you must watch the sales and use the no interest option. I recently bought a craftsman snowblower for $599.00 with no interest for 6 mos. (on the card) and have seen the same machine "on sale" lately for $699.00. So, it pays to compare and wait for the "right" sale too.

I wonder how many shyster lawyers have contacted the innocent sisters who just somehow were in the middle of the "Trampede"?

One mentions her hurt knee twice, and her "I don't know what I am going to ... " comment! The other sister has back and leg pains!

I bet at least one of the sisters has a "slip - fall and Trampede" Lawyer's card on the door of their refrigerator!

Leaving them open is better for your credit score though.

Not if you don't use them. To maximize your score, leave them open and charge a little on it now and then to show activity. About a month before - one billing cycle - you go for a major purchase, have a small, not zero, balance on as many as possible.
