CNN's Jack Cafferty, who made his anti-Iraq war, anti-Bush administration stance clear on Monday's "The Situation Room," rolled his eyes at Barbara Streisand's endorsement of Hillary Clinton on Tuesday's program. His characterization of the news: "Reclusive, neurotic, over-the-hill vocalist endorses Hillary. I mean, is the ground supposed to shake now, and lightning bolts fly out of the sky. Who cares!?"
Cafferty made the comments just before the top of the 5 pm Eastern hour of Tuesday's "The Situation Room." Two minutes earlier, as part of the "Political Ticker" feature on CNN, host Wolf Blitzer read a brief about the sometimes-retired singer's plug for the former First Lady. This prompted a question from Cafferty as he prepared to read the viewer responses to his 'Question of the Hour' for the 4 pm Eastern hour. "Give me a hand with something. What exactly does the Streisand endorsement represent?" Blitzer responded, "It means that Barbara Streisand, great singer, is supporting Hillary Clinton." This prompted Cafferty's "reclusive, neurotic" line.

LOL. I don’t know why anyone cares what Baba Streisand thinks about anything, but I most certainly do not give Jack the Jackal Cafferty any more credibility than Baba. I thought he’d recognize Streisand as a bedfellow, er bed-babe, of socialist wet dreams.

Babs' endorsement means almost as much to me as the endorsement of my great-aunt Rosena, and she died in 1989. Showbiz types are citizens like anyone else, and entitled to their opinions like anyone else. Their opinions have no more or less weight than anyone else's. Some are smart, thoughtful folks and some aren't.
The ability to sing, or act, or play an instrument doesn't confer political wisdom any more than the ability to clear a drain or rebuild a transmission. My plumber's opinion matters as much as my actor's.

Streisand could sing like an angel at one time, and could probably do a bit of comedic shtick. That said, she is a crypto-Marxist, as is her detractor, or perhaps more accurately they are fellow travelers.
