RALEIGH - North Carolina's community college system has ordered the state's 58 campuses to admit illegal immigrants, overturning a policy of letting the heavily enrolled schools set their own rules for handling undocumented applicants.
David Sullivan, the system's top lawyer, dispatched a memo this month telling the community colleges that state regulations require the schools to admit illegal immigrants who meet the schools' basic requirements of being either a high school graduate or an adult in need of skills training.
"That's just wrong," said Sen. Richard Stevens, a Cary Republican and co-chairman of the higher education committee. "I can't believe North Carolina taxpayers would be asked to pay for the education of people who are in this state illegally."

I’m guessing he graduated from the same community college system.
Let them come and register,it could be an I.N.S. sting like the cops use with the free Super Bowl tickets to catch fugitives!
Soooo...just exactly how much of “we the people’s” Federal dollars do these colleges presently receive...?!!!
Like it or lump it, if these people are going to stay here, then you must mainstream them into US society; otherwise you’ll have a Quebec situation.
If they are not all going to be rounded up in some kind of mass deportation (and they are not), then not helping them enter the mainstream is just shooting ourselves in the foot,
and insuring that there will a large mass of unassimilated
people for the next generation to contend with.
I’m in favor of offering illegals FREE tuition...provided the schools are also required to report them to the cops.
No colleges do not have to admit illegals. Illegal aliens should not even be in this country and should be quickly deproted.

Admit them, and then fax their course schedule to Homeland Security, so they will know when to pick them up. Not that they ever would.
Actually, no. If you do not provide services and make it too costly for people to hire them, they will return to Mexico.
If we support illegal aliens, we are supporting criminals. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Ah, the phrase used by the left to stop debate. How many people do you actually know that believe we should round them up?
The real answer is much more cost effective and very simple. Simply turn off the employment, health care, education magnets and they will find their way back home.
Fine businesses that employ them. Stop mandating schools teach them. Stop paying their health care. Stop Press 1 for English and just demand English be used.
