November 28, 2007 -- THE publisher of Sen. Ted Kennedy's autobiography won't likely recoup his $8.5 million advance unless the 75-year-old Democrat finally tells what really happened in 1969 at Chappaquiddick, where Kennedy's car went off a bridge, drowning campaign worker Mary Jo Kopechne.
But Jonathan Karp, head of the Twelve imprint at Hachette Book Group USA, isn't worried. Karp told Page Six yesterday, "When we met with Sen. Kennedy, he assured us he would be candid."
Kennedy, who didn't report the Martha's Vineyard crash to police for many hours, eventually pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident and was given a two-month suspended jail sentence.
Asked if Kennedy would come clean on the scandal, conservative author Ann Coulter quipped: "He'll cross that bridge when he comes to it . . . If he does talk about Chappaquiddick, I believe he'll have to forfeit his advance under the Son of Sam laws."

If you ever view the tape of Ted Kennedy in his televised “apology and explanation” for Chappaquidick in Aug. 1969, you will see the prototype for Bill Clinton’s lying and weasel wording.
The only thing good that came from Mary Jo’s death is it prevented Teddy from becoming the Dem presidential nominee in 1980.
Never forget that Ted was in the forefront of the anti Vietnam War campaign always supporting John Kerry in his lies, and Teddy is the one who was dealing with the Soviets behind Reagan’s back in 1983 at the height of the Peacekeeper missile deployment in Europe.
Teddy is not only responsible for Mary Jo’s death, but he is complicit in the death of 3 million South East Asians because of the betrayal of South Vietnam in 1975.
He is a no good soicopathic, lying, womanizing SOB, and he WAS Clinton, before Clinton was cool.

According to the book “Senatorial Privilege” Teddy the swimmer also loved cacaine. So I guess he mixed the two, cocaine and alcohol.
