Only with a stick. Not in a general election.

And throughout the month of December, the Slick Willard Sleaze Machine will be pointed directly at Huck. Meanwhile, Fred will be increasing his presence on the airwaves and releasing more and more detailed position papers. We’ll see what happens...

I’m a strong social AND fiscal conservative but I must admit, I laugh when social conservatives say the party has been ignoring their needs, at least they get a rope or two. Fiscal conservatives haven’t got any strong policy pushed with the exception of tax cut which many in the GOP weren’t up for a fight about anyway.

>>It’s the Romney backlash factor . The Huckster is a breath of fresh air for Evangelicals , because the thought of a Mormon scared the heck out of them . Everything else be damned ....

Meanwhile the truly consistent Conservative pro-lifer ,Thompson , gets ignored .<<

Romney backlash, yes.

But also many social conservative aren’t really for small government - they want government to enforce their views.

Also Fred has spoken well so far. Its early but he needs to speak better and more clearly.

We can also blame Fred Thompson from running an terrible campaign and alienating social conservatives.

Yes, that is the continuous spin MSM and liberals like yourself have continuously put out.

Look at this from a MSM protect hillary perspective.

Giuliani is nothing more than a Hillary clone and Hillary can run to the right of a NYC Rino.

Huckabee is bill clinton lite, he is another “hope” arkansas derivative. Hillary can run against Bill Clinton useing Huckabee as a surrogate for Bill Clinton. A transferences of all the hatred of christians with Bill Clinton’s origins.

It is the template, all to elect hillary.

Hillary Clinton is the meanest and most unlikeable person to run for President in modern time, no person with such fatal character flaw can win the Presidency...

Yeah, I remember hearing that when she ran for Senate.

Nominate Tax Hike Mike as the Republican nominee and you may as well hand Hillary a U-Haul and gas money to D.C.

There is no reason to be “blaming” anyone. You like a candidate, vote for them. If not, vote for someone else. Also Huckabee is basically a panderer. I noticed that during the debate at Morgan St.

Oh, and hold on there, Sparky! Duncan Hunter is every bit as socially conservative as Huckabee and one could easily argue he is more conservative. Then, when you toss in the fact that Hunter has actually done things to secure our borders, strengthen our National Defense and done things to put the ChiComs in check; It quickly becomes, no contest.

Twilight Zone. The religious right has gone mad!!!!

They're not nuts.

But their choices make Matthew 16:26 spring to mind.

The truth is they are base of the Republican Party. A lot of people don’t like em but no GOP presidential nominee can win next November without them.
__________

Of course, the same could be said of any sizeable block of GOP voters.

Other than the life issue, of which there are at least 4 strong pro-life candidates in the field, on which issues should conservatives place their trust in Gov Huckabee?
(This is an honest question.)
Taxes/Spending?
Immigration/security?
Social entitlement programs?

My reference to the Arkansas political machine means that what I see from him, in large part, mirrors a lot of what I see from the other AR politicians, and it concerns me greatly.

No, it's a REALITY. Thompson would have the nomination WRAPPED up had he embraced, rather than alienated, social conservatives. Whoever is running his campaign is dunce.

And, the polls show conclusively that Thompson has run a lousy campaign as his support is much lower than before he entered the race.

And, take the accusation that I am a liberal and stick where the sun doesn't shine.

I doubt that very much.

Just like Giuliani would be NYC liberal vs NYC liberal

Hucabee would be Arkansas Liberal vs Arkansas liberal.

Hillary Cliton can run to the right of either one.

Huckabee also supports the prebate entitlement program of the FairTax Scam. It is an entitlement program that will dwarf the social security and great society programs combined. Every single person recieving a governemnt check for government approved necesity sales tax expenditures.

Huckabee is a wet noodle against hillary.

DINO TRUMPS RINO.

I like Duncan Hunter. But, he has NO chance of winning as he hasn’t cracked five percent in any poll.

I’d of put LBJ in his prime up against her.

That’s great! I went to Liberty University, and I am leaning Huckabee (he’s far less inconsistent that the other so called ‘frontrunners’)..
