ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle has been arrested a second time after failing to properly register as a sex offender, sheriff's officials said.
The 59-year-old musician, whose real name is Thomas Delmer Pyle, was arrested Tuesday at one of three addresses he gave to authorities, Sgt. Chuck Mulligan said. He was being held Wednesday on $50,000 bond, Mulligan told The Florida Times-Union. Jail records do not show whether he had a lawyer.
Pyle had been released on $10,000 bond after being arrested on the same charge Nov. 19. He was arrested again after he still didn't register a new permanent address, officials said.

I played drums in rock bands for 25 years. Everyone who walks out of a music store should have to register.

I was listenig to Hannitys radio program a few weeks back and a guy called in saying he was with Lynyrd Skynyrd. I wonder if this is the same guy.
Many close calls. I had the presence of mind to ask the girl with the “Class of 85” sweatshirt on to ask what college she went to.

Not addressing this to you personally,randog,but to me whenever I read lyrics like this it just reaffirms for me that the immorality and promiscuity that infests this culture is by NO means confined to the urban ghettos.

After Skynard broke up, this guy played in a band with my uncle. I would go to the barn they rehearsed in in the middle of the woods in southern rural Alanta area (my father played bass for them to rehearse, but couldn’t tour due to job requirements for me and mother needing support).
This guy creeped my out. Especially after a few beers. I was a beautiful child at 6 or 7 (the whole place reminded me of that movie Honeysuckle Rose with the kids running around at night while the band parties and played and got drunk). He cornered me one night on the side of the barn but my mother warned me and made me paranoid (given her experience as a child) and I ran. He never touched me, but I got the feeling he would have. Rurual Georgia woods is a large place to hide if you know what I mean. I still went to the practice sessions with my dad and uncle until my uncle got doped up on coke and alchohol after a gig and ran his pickup under a cement truck. No more band. They had just got signed onto to RCA the month before. Had band photos made, the album half cut (my dad had honors as the bas player, how cool is that?0 I often wonder if my dad would have went on tour if the album he helped record had had chance to sell. But I still say it went for the best. BTW, this was circa 1981-1983. And I never played outside again, just in the opening of the barn with alot of other kids surrounding me constantly. Too afraid to tell my dad because I didn’t think he’d believe me (as I’m sure Arty would have denied)

I have a friend who used to hang out with the Marshall Tucker band. Art used to party with them a lot. My friend told me Art could get pretty wild after a few drinks. He said he rode with him once to get some more alcohol and nearly got them killed.
