In December 2006, Knievel sued rapper Kanye West for trademark infringement in West’s video for Touch the Sky.
The case was later amicably settled on November 28, 2007 for an undisclosed sum of money.

He just sued and settled with a rapper, I think it was Usher, over him using his name in a song. Interesting guy, life wouldn’t be as fun if there wasn’t a few people like him around.

LOL!!! I remember one night before Christmas some time ago ... I was awakened by this annoying sound of something revving up and then crashing into stuff. Turns out it was my dad playing with my Evel Knievel toy as he and mom were stashing gifts under the tree.

My brothers and I would send the Evel stunt cycle off a ramp at the top of a flight of stairs. It was pretty cool watching it go down like a ski jumper.

me too. I used to love setting up a ramp and jumping the motorcycle into the closed garage door.
I was absolutely obssessed with the Snake River jump. I still have the scars on my elbows and knees from setting up ramps and jumping them on my bike. I loved Evel when I was a little kid.
RIP Evel

me too.
I met Mr. Knievel in the early/mid 70s... at a dragstrip in Enis, TX... he had his outfit (white leathers and I think he had a cape too) on and did wheelies on his Harley-Davidson (I'll never forget how loud it was). At the meet and greet afterwards... the room had renderings of his future attempt at "jumping" the Snake River.
R.I.P. Mr. Knievel... you'll always be the man.

Wow. One more icon gone. I remember seeing a documentary of his life and his early days were quite...um....unique. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember something about him being a safecracker or some such during part of his "misspent youth".
One thing for sure, he made a name for himself. There is no other.

In the winter we would build a ramp out of packed snow and ice and jump bales of hay using Flexible Fliers, and in the summer, we jumped over the the little kids in the neigborhood while riding banana bikes over a ramp made from plywood (and broken Flexible Fliers).

In December 2006, Knievel sued rapper Kanye West for trademark infringement in West’s video for Touch the Sky.Evel Knievel didn't care about black people.
But seriously, kudos to this man, who, IIRC, basically cheated death once back in the 1970s.
