What I find fascinating about the two conflicts...the Bosnia war and the Kosovo war...is that no studio has attempted any movie on either. There are major political and media games that were played out...thousands dead...and no one wants to tell any part of either conflict. You don’t even see HBO doing a documentary on the wars...telling the story.
That's because it's too complicated and remote for the average American to understand. Thus, it won't sell and make money.
So, "Welcome to Sarajevo." and make sure you don't find yourself "Behind Enemy Lines." ;-)
New movie starring Michael Madsen, should be released in the next couple of months called "Serbian Scars". The Serbs are the good guys and an Albanian terrorist is the bad guy. It was filmed in Belgrade and Chicago.
Then, word has it that there is another film being shot next year about the WWII rescue of over 500 American soldiers from behind German lines by Serbs. Robin Williams is supposed to play General Draza Mihailovic, who we abandoned to the communists.
FYI, Savior deals with the Bosnian War as does Shot Through the Heart.
