IN retrospect, it was not a good idea to have left his pistol at home. Called to the scene of a traffic accident in the Paris suburbs last Sunday, Jean-François Illy, a regional police chief, came face to face with a mob of immigrant youths armed with baseball bats, iron bars and shotguns.
What happened next has sickened the nation. As Illy tried to reassure the gang that there would be an investigation into the deaths of two teenagers whose motorbike had just collided with a police car, he heard a voice shouting: “Somebody must pay for this. Some pigs must die tonight!”
The 43-year-old commissaire realised it was time to leave, but that was not possible: they set his car ablaze. He stood as the mob closed in on him, parrying the first few baseball bat blows with his arms. An iron bar in the face knocked him down.
“I tried to roll myself into a ball on the ground,” said Illy from his hospital bed. He was breathing with difficulty because several of his ribs had been broken and one had punctured his lung.

Until we can truly and honestly identify who these thugs really are...this will never be solved. I think Sarkozy is still too Nutty Globalist to really want to deal with this...even though many Americans seem to like and respect him.

I heard the other day on Spanish radio here that 80 police were seriously injured on the first or second night of rioting (i can’t remember which). I remember thinking, what a faggy country if that many police get their butts kicked by anything less than a heavily armed paramilitary group........yes I know the Spanish police (except for the Guardia Civil would get their butts kicked too, as they often do by one or two eastern european thugs, but France is the issue here)
It’s long past time for the French to apply Rule 308 to a few of these guys.

I remember the riots well. I worked in Compton at the time. I can assure you the LAPD have never, ever taken fire and not returned it.
During the riots the LAPD "leadership" refused to defend the public. But they always defend themselves.

Its more complicated than that.
1) France has a socialist culture since the early 1900s. They gave out huge pensions and enacted laws allowing early retirement. Realizing that it is not sustainable, they allowed immigration from Northern Africa to fill the labor void (SOMEBODY has to do the work).
2) Then the immigrants had children ... and no jobs were available!
3) Combine no jobs with African “culture” and then throw in Mullahs preaching hatred, and then you have ... Islam in Europe.
I blame this all on Socialism and the idiot Progressives. Embrace evil and cultures based on enslavement and violence towards women is JUST AS EVIL.

Anyone who is surprised by what these animals are doing has had their eyes closed for the last 30 years. It appears that government is failing to protect its people. Not just in France, the UK, Denmark, etc., but here as well. We have illegal aliens committing murders and rapes. People are eventually going to take matters into their own hands. These violent third world savages underestimate what Western people are capable of when pushed far enough.

Haddit, my point was not that they did their job during the riots. Meaning deal with bad guys and defend good guys. I never even mentioned the riots, you did.
