The decision that your life is worth a few dollars worth of stuff is always entirely the criminal's.

If burglars knew there was a good chance of earning the permanent dirt nap, they would go into another line of business --- like race-baiting or pro-criminal activism.

The burglers turned on Horn and were coming at him. Therefore he was protecting himself which is even a stronger defense for Horn. No indictment is likely. Quanell “no slave name” (that’s what the X stands for) is a former drug dealer and general pain in the ass around Houston. Publicity is what he wants and of course the Houston Comical is happy to fan the flames in orger to sell there fish wrap.
