I just told the RNC to go pound sand (Vanity).

Bullseye! They won’t get a dime from me until I see real action and real backbone.

Very cool. I’ve done that too.
But then again, I’ve thought “Is the person doing the telmarketing call ever gonna pass your sentiments on to the people who really need to hear ‘em?”

Unfortunately it probably won’t matter much.
They usually hire independent telemarketers who are just there for the paycheck. Which means, they rarely relay any information back to the RNC.

Probably not. I did it in college, for pay, and although I’m a conservative Republican and was at that time as well, I usually just said “OK, whatever” and went to the next call.

Brilliant. Take out your frustration on a paid employee with no say. I bet you feel so much better about yourself.

Reasoning with the phone drones is pointless. I’ve learned that a harsh blast obscenity-laden Brooklynese gets me taken off their lists.

It’s his phone in his house or business, so he’s entitled to chew out the telemarketer if he wishes. So what if they’re just paid employess? The way I see it, they’re paid to take my guff when they disturb me in my home.

I try to be polite, before saying a few explanatory words and hanging up. No point making life any more miserable for a paid telemarketer.
The RNC will never hear what you say. But they DO notice when returns are especially bad, as they were during the amnesty crisis. People were really super angry with the party at that time, and with President Bush, and the pros got the message. Not that they plan to change their ways.
