Joe Loya reported the following from the 5th Circuit Courthouse, New Orleans, Ramos and Compean Hearing
Before three federal judges:
Ramos and Compean's attorney was allowed to speak for one half hour, no interruptions
The prosecuting attorney was interrupted "every three minutes" by all three judges. "The attorney could barely complete sentences without the judges firing away at him."
The judges were familiar, in depth, with the case
They grilled the prosecuting attorney relentlessly on the following:
Why did the government allow Davila to lie under oath Why did the government grant this special immunity Why did the government prosecute law enforcement officers use of a gun using a law designed for criminals Why did the government seal information
Apparently, the judges were merciless on the prosecuting attorney
Johnny Sutton DASHED out of the courtroom - avoiding all reporters
Joe Loya said there will be coverage on Lou Dobbs, Fox 11 did interviews, as well as America's Most Wanted

Why am I suddenly envisioning cheap late-night commercials for the law firm of Sutton and Nifong?
sounds good for Ramos and Compean .. they should be home next week. Then sue the $(@&#@ out of the govt.
Another one—with pics! Thanks Ladycalif!

Judge says prosecutors may have overreacted in Border Patrol case (Ramos/Compean Appeal)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1934194/posts
Feds admit smuggler lied in Ramos-Compean case
Bush should short circuit this whole thing and grant them a pardon.
One can hope.
It’s going to be ugly for those that have been supporting this prosecution and the penalty administered when Bush is basically forced to release these two, many years before their sentences will be completed.
You’ll note as they rush to convince all this trial and prosecution for shooting a professional drug smuggler were totally legitimate, and just, most supporting this Sutton miscarriage of justice are covering their butts by adding, they too hope they are released.
Even they know what’s coming, and understand these two were made political pawns in an effort to set an example...So Bush could send his “hands off illegals” to the border patrol.
At the same time these two shot a professional drug smuggler, Bush was up in the White House attempting to legalize millions of these criminals.
The entire prosecution, trial, and sentences were an abomination of justice, and this is why they’ll both be released within 1 year.
They will never serve these dictator like sentences in completion, and the person that was in the position to aid and abet this violent invasion, actually publicly encouraging it, should be held directly responsible.
I am encouraged. But I will feel better when these two good men are home with their families.

Home for Christmas Prayers
BumP
I hope not. I want an investigation, and I want heads to roll in a general housecleaning within upper echelon BP management.
Sutton you useless POS! The jig is up!
There is a chance they could lose this appeal. I don’t want to risk it. Instead, let them sue the gov’t after they are free men.
ramos and compean update
Another bttt for Ramos-Compean.
Why? Because the President of Mexico asked Bush to rig this case to get his pet drug smuggler off, and Bush evidently agreed to see that it was done.
Thanks for that.
I think it would be way better for the convictions to be overturned. Sho’ ‘nuff “not guilty” beats “guilty but pardoned” in my book.
“Bush should short circuit this whole thing and grant them a pardon.”
I expect he’d only do that if this starts reflecting poorly on him, i.e., if the dots start connecting from Jorge’s good buddy Johnny Sutton back to Jorge.
Amen to that.
“I’ve got a River of life flowing out of me.
Makes the lame to walk and the blind to see.
Opens prison door sets the captives free.
I’ve got a river of life flowing out of me.”
Johnny Cochran? Wait, he’s dead.
Maybe John Edwards, after he loses?
No, they need to be exonerated so they can sue for millions and hopefully go after Sutton personally as well. They did nothing wrong and should become VERY rich from this.
They should also get their jobs back with full back pay.
Then he should commute the sentences, and let the appeal continue to clear their good names.
And back pay.
Ping.
Trace Adkins is talking about Ramos and Compean on Glenn Beck -even wrote about them in his book.
Woo-hoo for something good for Ramos and Compean!
No thanks. I’m trying to let you guys have your fun.
Just wanted to keep you up to speed.
This thread ain’t about fun nor is the appeals process.. It’s about justice, something we should all be in favor of and seek to have done.
This is good. Please let the border agents go home.
You need a better BS detector. Johny Sutton was rotten from the get go. I’m not going to rub it in beyond that-— You were too trusting of our Feds on the Border
The best outcome for this outrageous case would be a “not guilty” verdict from the appeals court with no followup by the prosecutor.
Our current border patrol agents need encouragement and strong assurance they will not end up like Ramos and Compean for faithfully doing their job.
No! As much as I want them out of jail tomorrow, these two deserve better than a conviction on their records. They deserver exoneration, reinstatement, reimbursement of expenses and restitution.
Then we can go after Sutton.
Hell They should Sue Bush!
He is to Blame with these stupid appointments!
There is more blame for Homeland Security from what I hear...Laura Ingrahm said as much.
Johnny Sutton is just a dupe and it is realy the Open border
leftists within Homeland Security that pushed this Prosicution through.
I would have liked to see the look on his face once the appellate judges started tearing his case to pieces and he realized that his gig is up.
No, Thank YOU! :-)
works for me.
Not going to happen. Open borders is a Bush priority.
Bump to that!
Crossing fingers on this...
I always forget to tune into Glenn Beck—I just turned it on but I think I’m too late. I missed his radio show today—I understand he had a woman on reporting on first hand accounts from the court proceedings (I think it was Tara Setmeyer, Rohrabacher’s spokesperson). I wish I could have heard that.
'Bout time! :-)
BUMP to that!
On the contrary, they will be in extreme, increasing danger in prison until they are actually out...
LOL! Hopefully, they could run an internet "we're not lawyers any more but" firm from behind bars.
Trace ought to write a song about them. He could do it justice.....maybe the only justice they’ll get.
There will always be jackboot lickers, who would defend any tyrant and blame any victim.
Sara Carter on the Glenn Beck Radio Show LIVE from the 5th Circuit Court, New Orleans:
From the courtroom, Sara Carter said:
“Mr. Sutton was at the court. He sat in the courtroom as a spectator. It was tense.”
“Judges were visibly perplexed by why the government prosecuted these agents,” Sara Carter said.
Appellate defender “TORE SUTTON APART” according to Sara Carter.
Three judges asked questions intensely. Very animated. The challenges to government were very strong
One of the judges said they think there was an overreaction.
Based on the line of questionings, Sara Carter thought it went really well.
The judges went to the immunity agreement - the heart of the case. The type of immunity was called into question - as this limited the defense’s questioning ability. Seemed to bother the judges, according to Sara Carter
She said when the judges hit the gavel, Sutton “slithered out of the courtroom.”
The judges can take up to 60 days to rule.
