Why are you quoting old Free Republic posts from a time when this was a conservative place? It's GOP central now.

The military-industrial complex is not a kooky conspiracy theory. Dwight Eisenhower warned us: “In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.”

Why do you think we are still in Iraq? We could’ve blown the whole place to smithereens if that was the goal. The MIC has a vested interest in dragging out the conflict and keeping a continued presence in the region. It’s money into their pockets taken straight from the taxpayers. Publicly subsidized, privately profitable, much like the give-aways to the pharmaceutical companies under Medicare Part D and to that the Dems (as well as Romney) would like to give to the insurance industry under their health care plans. That’s not a conspiracy - that’s a fact. It’s pretty transparent to anybody paying attention.

As for the “biased media”, I thought it was pretty well established that the media is biased against anyone who will upset the applecart of big-government liberalism. I can’t believe a Freeper would think otherwise.

The Fed and IRS of COURSE aren’t going to like his campaign, because he wants to end their existence! That’s why people who work in government tend to be liberals - so they can keep their jobs. Again, hardly a conspiracy.

*****RP has 10.6MM in the bank now. The tea party should be a successful day for him. 2-4 million more in the bank.*****

$5 M is the low end for the tea party. He already has 25,000+ signed up for the tea party versus 17-18,000 for Guy F.’s day.

At the current rate of growth of the pledges, he will have over 30,000 pledges by the 16th.

Nov. 5th was actually more successful than previously noted, because a lot of donations from the western part of the US spilled over to Nov. 6th.

***5 M is the low end for the tea party***

Would be great if you are correct. I like being conservative on the numbers.

No matter what the 16th fundraiser brings in, it will be more than what he had the day before.

LMAO!!! Great posts KDD! Great research! Keep up the awesome work!

When discussing politics with my dad he often says "I love everything about Dr Paul except his foreign policy." Never does he insult Dr Paul. If more Freepers would take that position these threads wouldn't sound so freaking hypocritical with people still claiming to be conservatives! You can disagree with Dr Paul on the war all you want, but at least admit the man is the only politician in Washington to NEVER TAKE MONEY FROM A LOBBYIST! And admit to yourself what it truly means wrt his character. But go on making fun of him and his supporters if it makes you sleep better. As an article I read today stated, 13% of the population are libertarian leaning independents. Enough to sway any election. Keep on guys... Keep on...

As so eloquently put by one of my favorite conservatives:

CAPTAIN RON

Folks, folks, folks. Can we come down from the crow's nest, please? (mosquitobite note: must be some of these same Freeper's emailing him!)

First, as much as I'd love to see it, Ron Paul is not going to get the Republican presidential nomination. My suggestion yesterday that nominating him would be the best way to avoid a possible third-party run was made with tongue planted firmly in cheek. I just don't see how Paul can win a GOP presidential primary with so many anti-constitution, big-government Republicans casting votes.

mosquitobite note: BWHAHAHAHA

That being said, many of you have expressed concern that a Ron Paul run as the Libertarian Party presidential nominee in November would split the conservative vote and hand the White House back to Bill & Hill. Understood. But you folks need to understand that it is NOT the obligation of limited-government conservatives and libertarians to vote for the lesser of two evils in November. It's the obligation of the Republican Party nominee to EARN the votes of limited-government conservatives and libertarians.

If the GOP nominee fails to compete for that vote and just "assumes" it, then yes, there's a very real possibility that the conservative/libertarian vote will split and Hillary will end up back in the White House with her own Oval Office interns. And if that happens, it won't be Captain Ron's fault; it will be the fault of the Republican Party nominee.

Pirates, ye be warned.

Comparing Kosovo to Iraq is an upside down view.

I wouldn’t call Paul a cut and runner. I did in fact calll him an anachronistic whack job.

In terms of terrorism, I’d, in addition, call him a Blame America Firster.

100-125 people. In Santa Monica? You'd think the number would be much higher, given how liberal that area is!

Even Santa Monica is not anti-American enough for a blame America first coward like cut and run.

So, my question is, what is it about Iraq that makes you think that all of a sudden Bush was doing the right and honorable thing and the Paul is wrong?

Well because Bush told us so and Powell showed these funny little slides at the UN. Facts? We'll collect those after we destroy another third world country we have to turn around and rebuild on our tax dollars. All I can say is thank goodness the NIE report on Iran was released. Course I imagine the adminstration is probably digging around in the proverbial dumpsters of the world looking for another 'curveball' about now...

RP has 10.6MM in the bank now. The tea party should be a successful day for him. 2-4 million more in the bank.

Eventually George Soros and his clan are going to stop wasting their money. Once that happens cut and run will loose all his financial support.

IMO the idea that the military-industrial complex, the biased media, the big banks, the Fed, the waterboarders, and the IRS are somehow colluding to oppose Ron Paul is a nutball conspiracy theory.

The idea that every good American is applauding us, and daring to hope for a better future, characterizing non Paul supporters as not good Americans is pure cult ideology.

The military-industrial complex, the biased media, the big banks, the Fed, the waterboarders, and the IRS don’t like what we’re doing. But every good American is applauding us, and daring to hope for a better future.

Hopefully run third party and take all the anti-American cowards votes away from whoever wins the democratic nomination.

***Eventually George Soros and his clan are going to stop wasting their money***

The average RP donor (123K so far in 4Q) donates less than 100 dollars. He has less than a handful of donors giving the max of 2300.00. ZERO PACS.

Yeah, Soro’s and his clan are really funding the RP campaign. LOL
