We once had as many as thirteen. Two feral cats gave birth under our deck, adding eight to the five we already had. (It would have been fourteen, but we actually managed to give one away.)

They actually got along pretty well, with the only serious battles between two of the original cats who hated each other long before the new ones showed up.

Although I don't mention our menagerie to everyone, I can make just about anyone laugh just by reciting the list of their names (some multiple) and how they came by them.

It was a big moment for our cash flow when Costco came out with those giant bags of cat food for 12 dollars.

I have a cat that drives me crazy. I should have just got a pig.

I walked out of my house one morning and saw a pig rooting around in my flowerbeds. It was one of those moments, when my brain could not quite register what my eyes were sending it. I kept saying "there is a pig in my flowerbed". I finally recovered enough to walk up to the pig, who had a fancy collar with her name - Gertrude. I tied Gertrude to a tree well away from the now destroyed flowerbed and tried to figure out how you go about finding the owner of a pig named Gertrude. We were contemplating each other - Gertrude and I - when a car pulled up, a gentlemen jumped out and said "oh there she is". He was pigsitting and she escaped.

Of course, NO one at work believed I was late because there was a pig in my flowerbed!
