Six immigrants held following SUV crash[and Laredo home invasion]

Border Patrol agents assigned to the Laredo North station, working with officers from the Laredo Police Department, apprehended six illegal immigrants on Friday afternoon.

Agents patrolling near Father McNaboe Park, located off of Mines Road, observed several suspicious people come out from a landing area on the river, get into a black Lincoln SUV and speed off along Rancho Viejo Drive.

Border Patrol agents in another vehicle saw the SUV pull into a driveway. They pulled in behind the SUV to conduct an immigration inspection.

Upon seeing the Border Patrol vehicle, the driver of the SUV sped away, striking another car in the process. The agents attempted to follow the SUV but were unable to keep up and lost sight of the vehicle.

A short time later, other Border Patrol agents in the area saw that the SUV had crashed into a tree near Rancho Viejo Drive and Corral Loop. The occupants were gone and agents suspected they may have entered a nearby house.

At about the same time, the owner of the home called 9-1-1 from a neighbor’s house to report that several people had pushed their way into her home when she opened the door to investigate noise caused by the SUV hitting the tree. Laredo Police Department officers got her permission to enter and search the house.

Six illegal immigrants were taken into custody. Three were from El Salvador, two from Mexico and one from Guatemala.

To report suspicious activity such as drug and/or alien smuggling, call the Laredo Sector Border Patrol’s toll-free telephone number at (800) 343-1994.

Those poor illegal aliens being held hostage and taken for a death trip by one of those horrible SUV's. (/sarc)

Only thing missing from this article is a global warming tie in.

Global warming causes wetbackery. It is getting too hot in Mexico.

It could always be worse. One or more of the illegals might have had cigarettes with them!

Illegals are actually lucky they were caught rather than shot. Forcing your way into Texan’s houses often has that result.

Watch out Art ... "wetback" got me under something of a pile-on not too long ago.

Hopefully, times have (re) changed.

This can’t be true. Didn’t our governor just say that we had secured our borders?
