Ellen DeGeneres asked Jenna Bush a relatively simple question during her talk show appearance: Is she able to just pick up the phone and call home?
Jenna dialed some digits and soon Ellen was voice to voice with President Bush. Watch for yourself.

Interesting comments on that site for the video. Here is one from a liberal named "SunShine2368." Any FReeper psychologists want to analysis this?
"I am by far NOT a GW supporter but I will say at least he was able to say "I love you" to his daughter. Even if it was just for public relations and a ploy to try and get America to see he does have a heart. LOL Imagine that. But, I thought it was sweet and really he's too "retarded" to have staged it. It would have taken too long to have explained it all to him. I am glad he said it, my father never has and i'm almost 40!"

Not just a dumb question but it makes Ellen and liberals in general look stupid. Jena and her dad, GW, come of looking great. The most powerful man in the world makes himself available to his daughters anytime, anywhere.

This had to have been a setup. Not a knock on W’s relationship with his daughter, but his time is tightly scheduled — I seriously doubt he has time for random calls.

Wow! That’s a therapist’s dream right there. I like the use of the word “retarded” by someone nearly 40.
To: polymuser
It will just be a day or two before someone on Ellen’s staff leaks the President’s private phone number to the public.
Thus, this was either a dumb move or a staged event.

Frightening, isn’t it? The most powerful man in the world, and he can’t change the number if he needs to, as if he’s locked into a mobile phone contract or something.

Yeah, I doubt that she's that good of an actor, she seemed really worried about having stepped in it by calling. Watch her facial expressions and body language, she was scared.

If Jenna had called using her personal cell phone, I would buy it. However, she used an Ellen Show landline to making it possible for Ellen staff to get the President’s direct line.

Perhaps. By "random calls," I meant "calls at random times." I'm thinking that since his time is pretty much taken up with meetings and such, the chances of actually having him pick up are small, unless he's known to be available.
If the Ellen show is truly live, he may have been watching -- in which case he would certainly be available to pick up. If not ... then I stick with the "setup" idea.

I loved it. When she said “are you mad”, it sounded so daughterly.
You can tell that she can call lhim anytime but that if she bugs him for trivial stuff when he is in important meetings that it makes him mad. Just like a Father.
Jenna is more and more like her Mother,,she is so fresh and cute.

A call from my wife or kids is not random. I can be in meetings and I’ll step out.
If it’s a critical meeting, I’ll triage the situation, and then call back when I’m able.

1) Can you picture Ellen co-operating on a stunt to make W look good?
2) BDS has caused this person to imagine a universe in which the President of the Free World is "retarded"? Yep, they just let ANYBODY fly those attack jets.
3) For that matter, I thought by the Liberal mantra of "Tolerance", it would be insensitive and cruel to use the word "retarded"? Well, unless you are talking about that moron the President, of course.
4) Anyone surprised that SunShine2368's bothered enough by her father's lack of affection that the information has to be divulged to the entire world over the Internet, or moreover that someone who has paternal authority issues is assumedly a Democrat who can's construct a paragraph in English that doesn't contain sentence fragments and incorrect capitalization?
