PING
Most probably won’t have heard of Jeremy Clarkson but he is a famous TV host - of a programme called ‘Top Gear’ whoch is basically a programme about cars - but it’s one of the best things on TV - It’s actually hosted by three sort of middle aged guys and is mvery popular even with people that aren’t paticuarly interested in cars.
He’s also famous for being fairly outspoken - probably the most outspoken voice against the global warming lobby.
I love Top Gear. He should have just kicked their rears and taken their cell phones.
ACE!
Top Gear is a fantastic show. Those guys do some insane stuff and it’s almost always good for head scratching “wth?” moments and at least one good belly laugh.
gonna have to get one o’them “Clarkson for PM” tee-shirts :)
Cheers for Mr. Clarkson for standing up and speaking out!
The best defense is a good offense --- V. Lombardi..........
That’s a great book - it clarified a lot of things for me.
PRICELESS.
Well, many FReepers might not be so keen to visit there, because it is famous for something over here:

lol
Anyway, I’m sorry you had a bad experience - which is what I would describe as yob behavior. Sadly there are so many of these little shites over here, and efforts to crack down on it are not having much of an effect.
Brighton is one of the nicer ‘resorts’ we have in the UK - a traditional coastal location here really, although there are many more.
I watched a news report from the UK that featured a 20 something year old guy who apparently was a local criminal type.
It was astounding to see this guy, he had the clothes and teeth of one of the “mtv type” rappers repllete with gold chains and the whole bit.
\It appears that hip hop culture and young urban fashion has been exported to the UK.
Yes, it really developed over the course of the late 90s and exploded into the 90s.
The ‘rock generation’ has ling expired, and has been replaced by a yobbo generation.
Honestly, people are sick and tired of it. It isn’t just the serious violent offenses, it’s lesser things like the experience a fellow FReeper described in this thread. A complete lack of respect or basic courtesy of others.
I always thought it was Mel, the cook from "Alice" who said that!
I don’t disagree with a single thing he has to say. As someone who grew up and went to school in the 1950’s, I am continually amazed at what todays kids are permitted to get away with.
Their trip to Miami and Alabama last season was a riot. Search You Tube for “Top Gear” + Alabama. (Not recommended for those easily offended & who still think the Civil War hasn’t ended)
:)
Try youtube for “top gear” +”flying car” and enjoy :)
“Now that’s sport!”
Funny thing is UK, the whole gold teeth/3 girlfriends/pistol carrying “bust a cap” schtick is now passe’ here in the US just based on CD sales, that genre’s is losing favor.
And for me a gang of loudmouthed teens are liable to do anything, the gentlemen earlier was correct to feel uncomfortable when he was boxed in by them.
