Huckabee: God Wants Me to Be President

God wants Mike Huckabee to be President. Is there any other way to interpret this?
STUDENT: Recent polls show you surging
What do you attribute this surge to?
HUCKABEE: Theres only one explanation for it, and its not a human one. Its the same power that helped a little boy with two fish and five loaves feed a crowd of five thousand people. (Applause) Thats the only way that our campaign can be doing what its doing. And Im not being facetious nor am I trying to be trite. There literally are thousands of people across this country who are praying that a little will become much, and it has. And it defies all explanation, it has confounded the pundits. And Im enjoying every minute of them trying to figure it out, and until they look at it, from a, just experience beyond human, theyll never figure it out. And its probably just as well. Thats honestly why its happening.
The irony is that Huckabee is saying this with sincere humility its divine intervention, not the power of one mere man at work but its an incredibly arrogant thing to say.
Jim Geraghty has the best line Ive seen on this so far: Wow. Huckabees been endorsed by both Chuck Norris AND Jesus Christ.

Huckabee is a media wet dream. After they prop him up for the GOP nomination they are going to shred him. The irony of all ironies is that Huckabee practically a Clinton clone in the way he plays politics.

I still don’t like this guy. I’m not praying for his candidacy but for the real miracle guy... It will take a miracle for Duncan Hunter to get where America needs him to be.

"There literally are thousands of people across this country who are praying that a little will become much, and it has."
He's talking about thousands of people joining in prayer. He's gaining the support of many Christians and it's a growing movement. Makes sense that his poll numbers would improve likewise.

I believe that God is allowing things to play out on this old planet. What point is there in correcting or directing every activity on earth, if evil is to be allowed to show itself for what it is?
In due time God will intercede on man’s behalf, but not until it is dramatically clear that evil is evil and that man would utterly destroy himself if He didn’t.
The wages of sin must be overwhelmingly clear, not just for us but for all beings in God’s universe.

UPDATE: ChubbyChaser offers the obvious retort: I guess this means Huckabee thinks his supporters in New Hampshire are really shty at praying, since hes in fourth place there with single-digit poll numbers. Either that or the Granite States recently-installed God Blocker 9000 (TM) anti-divinity force-field is working quite well.
He's shaping up as the ONLY Republican who Hillary could beat.
To: pissant
IIRC, in 04, Dean was surging, then his yyaaaeeeewwwwaaaaahhheeeaa moment, and his rapid descent.
Maybe G_d is just funnin’ with ya, Huck. The votes haven’t even started being cast yet.
