BALTIMORE — A white woman beaten by a group of black students on a bus has prompted a hate-crime investigation, attempts by transit officials to reassure riders of the safety of the system, and radio talk-show chatter over comparisons with the Jena Six case. The uproar prompted two leading black politicians to issue statements decrying the attack. Sarah Kreager, 26, suffered broken facial bones and other injuries after she was punched, kicked and dragged off the bus Tuesday afternoon. Kreager's companion, Troy Ellis, was also attacked, but not beaten as severely. Kreager has an unlisted phone number and attempts to reach her Friday were unsuccessful. MTA police said evidence has not been found to support claims by the students' parents that the children were provoked.

My attitude is that there should be no hate crime laws. But if we’re going to have them, they should be applied even-handedly.
I have the same attitude toward laws prohibiting political activity by churches. There should be no such laws. But if we’re going to have them, then they should be applied to all churches that engage in political activity. The IRS shouldn’t look the other way when the Democrats use the black church circuit to raise funds and register voters while giving campaign speeches from the pulpit. They do that every election year and get away with it, but a conservative church would lose its tax exemption for the same thing.
But hate crime legislation was supposed to be a form of restorative justice to punish the white man more severely than the Black man, to make up for the history of injustice toward Blacks.
You know lady liberty, who holds the scale of justice? Well, she’s now Black and she has her finger on the scale.
Meanwhile, one of the nine middle school students charged with assault insisted race did not play a role in it.
Britny Carter, 14, said in an interview at her home Friday that the attack aboard the bus was prompted by Kreager, who she said spat at one of the other girls.
Britny, an eighth-grader, said students had been staring at Kreager, poking fun at the fact that she had a black eye. Kreager became angry and spat at a girl, Britny said, confirming an account given to The Sun by the mother of a boy charged in the attack.
"And then everybody on the bus started fighting," Britny said. No racial epithets were uttered and neither the victim's nor suspects' race had anything to do with the clash, she said."It wasn't a hate crime," said Britny's mother, Monalisa Carter. "That's so untrue. I did not raise her that way. Britny is not a racial person. She has white friends, black friends, she gets along with everybody."

In a written report, MTA police said the beating took place after one of the boys kept jumping in front of Kreager, claiming that the open seats on the bus were reserved. When Kreager finally found a seat, the teens began throwing punches at her and her boyfriend, according to the report. Police said her male companion, Troy Ennis, was also beaten, but not as severely.
A law enforcement source close to the investigation said Friday that Kreager, who is homeless, has entered the State's Attorney's Office's witness assistance program because officials are concerned for her safety.
Meanwhile, the victim, who is homeless, has been placed in Baltimore's Victims Assistance Program, because they fear for her . . . safety.

I love America but I also know when enough is enough and we are close. Argentina is Pretty much unaffected by the “oh we got to love the poor minorities” crap. The Argentinians are all effected by poverty but that are not a bunch of beaten down lazy asses like the inner city/ outer city people in the USA.

Rush was talking about this white man beat by mexicans. It’s not being investigated as a hate crime. The mexicans kept talking about this gringo in our area. That was definitely a hate crime. Why no hate crime investigation?
You would have to be an absolute nutcase...to live in Baltimore and ride the public transportation system there. In the 1960s...it might have been a great town to be in...but forty years have passed...and this is like Beirut, Lebanon.

I talked to a fellow from Sierra Leone who is in this country legally. He is studying to become a LPN and had a great outsiders view of ‘poor’ in America.
He said “ No sir, there are no poor in America.”
I was surprise and he said “ all the young want to sing rap and play the video and watch the DVD on the big screen. I live in the housing that is as least expensive as I can with 6 of my countrymen so that we may go to school and work. (He worked as a nurses aide). They don't like school even though they do not have to pay. In my country the poor look for food all day then gather grass to sleep in. School is only for the rich or those who can get into Christian school (he is a Muslim but went to a Catholic school.) You work hard in school and must travel a great distance and still help you family to earn money before you study”
Have we become so successful that no one has to work hard anymore. Have things become to easy for our youth that there is no reason to strive for anything that is given to them without effort.
At the same time we see young people stepping up to serve voluntarily in the military and go to war. Perhaps it is not so bleak as it seems. Perhaps we are not so pampered as we think.

Baltimore is a seriously messed up place and teh one place I normally ever go where I’d like to be carrying a pistol on general principles. Nothing I normally ever see in DC or NY really scares me that much at least in daylight and the goofiest looking people I see in DC and NY at least look like they came from this planet; the same is not true of Baltimore. The one thing which correlates most strongly with every sort of urban pathology in America is degree of demokkkrat infestation and in Baltimore, that variable is off the charts.

Middle schoolers have near adult bodies but childlike minds. The real purpose of middle school is to keep the kids from killing each other until they are ready to learn again. They don’t have good impulse control, and they are very susceptible to peer pressure.
Now, add to this a broken family, where there is no adult male in the house to teach them manners. Mom is too tired to discipline or just doesn’t care.
Now, add to this the “queen bee” phenomenon. There’s always one arrogant, presumably pretty girl whose opinions go. If she’s nasty and cruel, her group will be nasty and cruel.
The result is as dangerous as fulminate of mercury.
I do believe there is a place for hate crimes. There have been acts of violence to prevent people from exercising their civil rights because of their race, religion, or national origin. These fit the specific and narrow categories for hate crimes. Hate crimes do not automatically occur when a person of one race assaults a person of another race.
The machinations of demagouges such as Sharpton, Jackson, the La Raza, and others don’t change the legal criteria for charging someone with a hate crime. The law, thank Heaven, is above popular passion, imperfect as it is.
Of course, I’ve already seen this on sites such as the Baltimore Examiner and the Baltimore Sun. People have their narrow prisms of hatred and grab every example as a “See, I told you so!” It happens here, too. Nevertheless, the demagogues should be told firmly to butt out.
I noticed the parents are trying to make this into a racial issue and blame the victim. That’s because they know it’s an easy issue to stir up and they are hoping to pollute the jury pool so their kids will get a mistrial. If these kids had better parents, of course, they would’t have been riding in a pack on a city bus with Queen Bee urging them on to crimes.
I believe the book should be slammed down firmly on their heads. However, they are middle schoolers, and such shouldn’t be tried as adults. Juvie until they are 21 years old suits me.
The time appears to have arrived when all all people with a carry permit do so, and brush up on their marksmanship.
