Has your health insurance cost also gone up (MA Romney's socialist healthcare)

Fellow MA residents have your health insurance costs also gone up since Romney's socialist-light plan? I just noticed that my employer has dropped the less expensive option entirely starting 2008. My health insurance has gone up by $20 a month. My boss had his family coverage go up by $80. Apparently this is the first time anything like this has happened at my employer so I am wondering if anyone else has noticed the same.

I could have written your post—MY employer dropped our health care provider for a more expensive one, too. Not sure I can blame Romney for that, as much as I dislike his plan.

Big shock. The money has to come from somewhere to supplement the policies for the “less fortunate”.

I think the cost of health insurance has gone up for everyone everywhere. We do pay for millions upon millions of illegals you know. If you don’t like Romney, that is fine. This is, however a rather inept way to show it.

My Blue Cross/Blue Shield goes up every year. I just take the amount, divide by 2 and figure that’s the rate of inflation.

The same thing happened with college tuitions when we had four kids in college a few years back. Fortunately, they all graduated before tuitions really skyrocketed.

Like Rush says, anything the government gets involved in ends up costing more, a lot more.

I’m pretty impressed that your’s only went up $20, that’s remarkably minor indeed.

our cost has gone up and benefits down every year for years here in Florida. I am still trying to figure out why you call it socialized,it doesn’t resemble Britain’s or Canada’s plans to me.

Everybody has their health insurance costs go up every year, basically. But since you live in Massachusetts, you can expect your costs to go up AND for your plan to start restricting more and more things you want and mandating more and more things you won’t want (like sex changes and abortions).

Its gonna take about two years for the scam to be fully exposed in MA. After two years, the socialists in the state house get to start piling on all their mandates and your healthcare will become a political football and the costs will start to jump regularly.

It has already happened in Vermont after Howard imposed the same kind of ‘solution’. And the state has been running deficits because of the health care system ever since. The MSM doesn’t want anybody to mention Vermont ever again since it is such a disaster. But its plain as day and impossible to hide.

My boss had his family coverage go up by $80.

Maybe your boss changed options to minimize his costs and not yours. Do you have a family, wife and children to cover? How old are you? Do you have a history of excessive use? The same for your boss. A lot of things can affect the cost of premiums that have nothing to do with Romney.

Dictator RINO-Romney signing RomneyCARE=HillaryCARE [government-imposed forced socialized medicine without a vote]
to the excitement of Democrats behind him.

Sen. John Kerry to Don Imus: "I like this (Romney) health care bill".

Sen. Hillary Clinton: "To come up with a bipartisan plan in this polarized environment is commendable."

James Carville: "It's a feel-good story, this Romney thing. Romney is an ascendant guy."

no i am talking about Romney's Hilliary care plan that he put on us right before leaving office. I think many people have also mentioned this on the thread. The change in cost is with no change in use (which is nothing, ive never needed it other than physicals nor has my boss) also surprise everyone, i'm getting switched to blue cross as well. They seem to be really milking this

Hillary? What did she have to do with what Romney signed? The main requirement in the new law is requiring everyone to contribute to insurance premiums. How does that raise your premium? What exactly in the new law is causing premiums to rise? The cost of most everything rises over time. You said your use did not change. You do grow older. How do you know if you didn't reach an age to trigger a rise? And as one poster said an increase of $20 per month should please you.

What you seem to neglect is the very high cost of health-care (which is really high and not obvious to many workers as their companies contribute often more than the employee) in general. It's high because those who pay subsidies those who do not. The insurance companies have transformed to a privatized taxation. The government mandates hospitals can not turn anyone away. The problem is government does not entirely pay for the uninsured, insurance makes up the difference. Maybe Romney's legislation will actually help to hold down this rise in these new taxes.
