Hunched and inscrutable, President Robert Mugabe was forced to listen as Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, took him to task for "damaging Africa's image" around the world.

The Zimbabwean leader faced the attack during the opening session of a European Union summit with African leaders in Lisbon.

Well done Angela. I have my issues with the chancellor, but this was perfect.

This photo shows the president Abdoulaye Wade from Senegal being angry about Angela Merkel.

Mugabe is in Europe even though he’s supposed to be banned from such travel.

...that Merkel criticized him is a small price for him to pay to get another shopping vacation.

If this planet would not be that political correct we simply could have hanged him.

Seriously - All those dictators have is their pride. The African "leaders" all got extremely alarmed and angry after the speech of Merkel since they lost their face. They are not used to criticism and react thin-skinned. Therefore it was right to let him enter European ground. It was a good day for freedom.

I’m sure it didn’t help there pride that it was a woman who verbally slapped them upside the head. Those “leaders” deserve much worse, but I applaud Angela Merkel.

A wrist slap for someone who deserves a prison and firing squad.

Hanging is also an option, but oops that would involve a “racist symbol.”

Are we sick yet of racism being used as an excuse for tyranny.

Mbeki from South Africa probably wants to do the same stuff.

They are both cut from Karl Marx cloth.

Is there a single modern leader who has so driven a country into absolute despair and poverty to the degree that Mugabe has?

Very sad state of affairs there.

Prove that. Without proof, you’re only spreading gossip.

"Therefore it was right to let him enter European ground."

No. Mugabe got his shopping trip instead of being banned from world travel.

So some woman yelled at him. African dictators couldn't care less.

Merkel's a good woman, and she did the right thing by chastising him, but Mugabe shouldn't have been allowed to have his European vacation.

Ok, a long while back there was a pic of her in a magazine which I don’t remember which dancing up a storm with Mugabe.

Sorry, don’t remember the name of the magazine; but it was a popular ladies one.

I am not spreading rumors; jerk.

I’m glad this woman criticized him - no one else has the courage to do so.

I also remember that particular issue was sometime back in the late 1990s.

Maybe. But you know, I saw a TV newscast where Ronald Reagan shook Fidel Castro’s hand. In the interests of diplomacy, you deal politely with people you’d rather shoot. I am sure Condi would rather shoot Mugabe if she thought she could get away with it. I think she could if Mugabe ever traveled without a bunch of people.

I am sorry you think I am a jerk, but I get tired of unwarranted character assassination. That’s what DUmmmies do.

Sorry you feel that way. Why do people like you always compare a person who disagrees with you to Libs.

Where is it written that you are holier than thou?
